Unfortunately that Eriksson contract is gonna hurt for awhile.

I would try to trade him 50 cents on the dollar. If the rumor that Montreal is on the radar for half price I would jump on that

Yeah I kinda meant as an organization, Gillis, Nonis and Benning included.

Over JB's 4 drafts. Van could have had 5 current NHL players if he didn't trade 2 away and let 1 go back to Russia.

Boston currently has 6 over those same 4 years.

JB also didn't have the luxury of trading away a top 6 forward and a top pairing D. Thanks to the previous GM's inability to draft.

Put the pom poms down...if everyone was healthy and still in the lineup we would be in the exact same place we are now. Just maybe wouldn't be shutout so much. We are arguably the worst team in the league...and statisticly the second worst over the last three seasons. Not Christmas....not since bo and brocks injuries....the last three full seasons. This team is absolute crap as it's constructed. Own it , save the positivity for something important....brought to you by Sunday morning hate.com

That was a good segment last night on After Hours with Evander Kane. They did talk about everything briefly

Someone asked him if he was going to buy Gilman's house in Vancouver he smiled and said I already have a house in Vancouver

The panel on HNIC said he would be a good fit

Yeah not terrible but you have to consider Benning's drafted 6th, 5th and 5th in those four years where Boston hasn't had a top 12 pick. He also had the luxury of trading Kesler for a first and third round pick, got a second for Bieksa and Garrison as well, so not a huge gap.

The good news is the Canucks have their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks and they could be great ones!!

I quit reading after if everyone was healthy because I know the rest of it is going to be the same that the team is terrible with a healthy line up, same as the start of the season when they were relatively healthy and had a winning record.
- manvanfan

Yes your right....the first 20 games of the season are the most accurate way to determine how good your team and the league is.... Jesus get your head out of your ass.

He actually said 'homes' - maybe he's more mature than we think. Invested his money a few years ago in the Vancouver housing market - no wonder he has stacks of cash for a phone

He would be a good fit, I mean anyone talented enough is a fit with the team right now.

The 3rd worst team in the league has its own picks in the top 3 rounds? Sweet.

Kane used to be a real Richard in Wpg.

My friend got some Wpg jersey's for a cancer fundraiser for her friend. She put them at the front desk after a jet's practice and asked them to sign them when they left. Told them it was for a breast cancer fundraiser. Everybody signed no problem, most signed just because others were signing. Kane said that his autograph isn't for free. I guess Ladd and Buff were signing and told him to sign the (frank)en jersey's and Buff wouldn't let Kane walk out.

Last I have heard about Kane from my friend was she talked to Bogo's wife and somehow Kane being traded came up and she said Kane has grown up a lot over the past year.

I would agree that currently Boston is very well ahead of Van in drafting over the past 4 years. With Van having such a poopty line up, it is harder to throw in a mid round first and have them do well. I do like that they have kept OJ and EP out of the line up. The draft and develop is much better then the JV and JM treatment. You just don't see the results as quickly but hopefully it's better in the long term.

I think when people say he will be "better" then his brother, I think some probably take that out of context.

A .10 ppg is 8 points per year. That's more then "better" IMO.

Old article but it illustrates my fears with Brady. He might turn out great but he's like the second oldest behind Svech who's 21 by all accounts.

I wish the Canucks could draft like Boston
- LeftCoaster

I'm fine with our drafting. Wish we had more of them, but our drafting is the least of our problems. Our best prospects are not in the nhl yet so the comparison is as weak as your vegetarian cooking.

Matthews is almost a full year older then Laine. Yes Laine is now leading Matthews by 11 points but with 9 more games played.

Simple fact is that there just isn't anyone close to Tkachuk for the 3rd best forward in the draft this year. Wahlstrom would be the closet but you are then a year behind in development. You also don't know how Walhstrom is going to do next year in the NCAA where as you already know what Brady is capable of.

Tchunk may be the 3rd rated forward.....

4 defencemen ahead of him.

If svech is actually 21 like some are suggesting then tchunk might be the 2nd best forward.

Mathews would have gone number three after McDavid and Eichel.
Brady would not have been in the conversation for a top three pick in his draft minus 1 year.

Red herring.

Some millennials can not grasp reality, next year will be better if only everyone is healthy. We have Brock you know, and with Gaudette and EP and Lind and Demko, just wait you’ll see.

Yeah too bad the NHL didn’t award the Stanley Cup after 15 games Canucks would be a shoe in.
