As far as the draft goes it takes a couple of years before you can see the blueprint of a GM on a team. We are just starting to see his draft picks making their way to the big club.

A few threads back someone posted a link to players drafted and time spent in NHL for each. What was worth noting is that list is not done per capita. MTL has had the 7th least amount of picks and the 3rd least amount of first 2 rounds picks of all teams. So when they showed up at 5-10th least amount of time played, it wasnt exactly a shocker. This team is poorly managed but drafting isnt likely in the top 5 issues with the team.
