You have way more faith than I do. They're in a St. Louis style freefall right now, and I don't see them coming out of it any time soon. - jmatchett383
I think if they survive this weekend with 2 points then get wins vs Det and the Rags it will sort itself out. If they don't find 6 of the 8 points it will be ugly. |

Yeah, Gudas is definitely the problem on that pairing with Manning. - Feanor
I mean that pairing lol. I was amazed Hakstol kept tossing em on the ice in the 3rd. Dumbfounded. |

What else can he do play Prov-Ghost then AMac-Sanheim to death?
That's a recipe to bring out the AMac haters in droves. |

I really do hope so. But I just have zero faith in this team at the moment.
I truly do hope I am wrong. |

Yep
On a side note I'll be enjoying this weekend no matter what. Concert tomorrow night in the big house. Then Sunday's game in a suite. Happy early birthday to me! |

Truth hurts but this team has been inconsistent for years. I'm starting to really think we need to lose one of G, Jake, Simmonds, Coots. It's their locker room they need to figure that poop out. - dragonoffrost
The truth is the team has struggled because of its many bad players and the sub-standard coaching of Berube and Hakstol, not because of its few really good ones. |

I would spot shift them. Play one of them with one of your top-4 players (i.e. Provorov with Manning, etc.). |

They struggled with Lavy too.. It's just forgotten because of 2010. |

Lavy really got screwed once Pronger went down and the front office got caught with their pants down for never developing a d man worth a damn. |

Lavi had this core for a bit too. He coached G,Jake, Coots & Simmonds. That's definitely the current core. |

You mean when they were one the best teams in the Nhl in 2011 or when they were still a middle of the pack playoff team in the lockout season ? |

Does that matter? You said he had an entirely different core when he also coached this one. |

For the most part he did. Saying they struggled under lavy is not the truth. Most would say Jake who was a third liner same with simmer at this time were not core players only g was. |

So what you're basically saying is that they've been average to bad since Manning became a key part of the team?

Would you say lavy did better in 11, 12 than hak and Berube did during their tenure yes or no? |

Granted, I didn't watch most of last night as a matter of principle, but from the previous 8 games, and even the back-end of the 10-0-2 streak, they just haven't looked good enough to beat anything but bottom feeders with any sort of consistency. - jmatchett383
The games against the Canes, Red Wings, Isles and Rags are gonna make or break em. 6 of the last 11 are against those teams. Win those games and get a loser point in 2 of the other 5 and they finish with 95 and are probably in. Any less than that and they are pretty much (frank)ed.
Couturier looks like a guy playing 22 minutes a night and facing 1st line checking for the first time in his career. I think he’s just out of gas and that really hurts them right now as this team badly needs it’s top 6 players to carry them. |

I think they had a much better, deeper, more balanced team in 2012 than they have had since. |
