We all want the team to do well, and everyone is frustrated. Some choose to vent it and tend to exaggerate the darkness, others like to focus on the few positives and ignore the pain and refuse to hear anything negative said about the team.

For those that truly believe in the majority of the moves this team has made over the past 5 years or so, I have nothing to say lol.

I guess that's the beauty of being a arm-chair fan.

I liked some of the moves and disliked others.
I don't refuse to hear anything negative (that would be literally impossible here , but I don't see the point focusing on it.
It's sports.
Chance and luck are involved. What can you do?

Now.
When are we going to start talking about how we're 'due' a lottery win and that with a (maybe) 20% chance we're likely to win the 1st OA??

We'll be OK. Daniel says the battle-level is WAY up over the past few games vs LA and ANA. Tells me we are trending in the right direction.

I hav'nt watched but they are undermanned with injuries again, with a full lineup there okay but not good enough, we need some top end skill and a goalie, hopefully EP and demko etc and this years draft can solve this.

Maybe I'm alone, but I genuine want to see this team lose. I really think rock bottom has been hit and this will be a better team next year. I don't expect another top5 pick after this one unless we win a lotto.

I mean long-term.

We all want to get back to a point where the playoffs(and a playoff run) are an expectation, not just a hope.

I like discussing all moves, but mostly enjoy discussing the long-term process of how the team is being built(not 2020 lineups, actual strategy lol).

I'm not a fan of simply dismissing all minor moves are irrelevant, obviously a Subban for Dowd trade is pretty much guaranteed to be meaningless. But I mean the moves that are a tier above that.

Death by a thousand cuts.

To me that's more interesting than clicking on a draft lottery generator 10 times per day and posting a 2020 fantasy lineup where 75% or more of your prospects all pan out.

At this point, I think everyone wants the losses to pile up.
I'll wait to get my hopes up for next season, when i see our lineup.

I think we'll be right where you want us to be next season, assuming the Sedin's retire.
We'll have cap space, prospects pushing for spots and draft picks available.

I really don't think we were in a similar situation previously.
we had the Sedin's locked up, limited prospects, etc.

I hope so. I'd like to see at least 1 extra pick in the top 3 rounds of next year's draft for starters. And also have cap space available to bend over a team in a trade. Like how the Canes got TT, that's way better than trading a 2nd for Baertschi. I'm not expecting a trade that great, but even a less impressive one would be nice.

Tank for Hank and Dank!

All in for the tank. Who doesn't want better odds to win the holy grail?

Not sure if this has been asked on this board yet; if we get the 2OA pick, who do you take? Positional need would say to take Boqvist, Bouchard? Or do you take the BPA, Zadina, Svechnikov, or even Tkachuk? Trade down?

Personally I would take Boqvist.

Zadina for me, the guy can flat out score and does it in a variety of ways. Would love to add him to Horvat, Boeser, Pettersson. Then go D heavy the rest of the draft.

I watched some extended clips of Quinn Hughes, man he looks dynamic, but I'm worried about his size.

Yeah, I really had a tough time choosing between Boqvist and Zadina. Happy with either if got them.

I was thinking about that as well.
I can't bring myself to realistically think we'll get the 1st OA.

If we get 2nd?

Would they take Zadina's creativity, or be put off by his size.
Svech's size and skill. or be put off by the Russian factor.
Tkachuk has the grit/size that JB likes, but might be a reach at 2nd OA.
We need D badly. Boqvist is supposed to be the 2nd best D in the draft...

i'd go Zadina i think, from what i've read.
The nhl is changing. But i'd probably be happy with any of the top 5 tbh.

Svechnikov gets very little love, but there has to be a good reason that almost all the scouts have him at 2. I'd be happy with him or Zadina. as I agree he can score and we need skill so badly.

Zadina is 6'1" and 190+ at 18, I think he's perfectly fine

yeah, it's too early to have anything set in stone. Usually you get more detailed scouting reports, more video, etc closer to the draft on these guys. Plus the official height/weight at the combine.
