Gibson's .583 save% tonight will drop his season's average a tad....

Do you mean to tell me that you didn't have faith that the average AHL goaltender would step in and be a viable NHL starter?

He did mdw. He did not seem upset at all. He's either so happy or he freaks Shannon out.

It's amazing that Islander fans would be so quick to annoint a player with such praise after a few games after watching Garth Snow sign players to 5 year contracts with limited experience only to get completely (frank)ed in doing so. Some people never learn.

Interesting read. I found the part about the teams that pursued Stamkos interesting as He didn’t mention the Islanders

He looked pretty solid the first few games, however give it time as you saw last night with the Goalie Coaching of FB and the Islanders inability to play defense he will be shell shocked and ruin fairly quickly.

This is beyond a goalie issue. Most goalies will struggle with this lousy team defense. This is not to say Gibson is the answer.

I saw that on Insider Trading last night, it's an interesting thought and would be about the only thing that Snow could do to salvage this whole mess if Tavares decided he wanted to walk. Not sure what we'd be able to get for him, but I guess it's better than nothing?

I don't know. I don't care anymore.

Nope. The answer is clean house. Fire Snow, fire the coaching staff, fire the trainer, the towel boy, the stick boy and even the coffee maker. Fire everybody and start over with an experienced GM. Hire a coach with experience and some balls. Now, I know this will get my head shot off, but trade JT for a bunch of picks or a TRUE #1 D-man. It's time to tear this whole thing down. Cleanse ourselves of the losing culture that has been deriding us for almost a quarter of a century. The team sucks. The coaching sucks. The management sucks. The ownership sucks. The whole organization sucks. The only way it will change is to get rid of all involved. Yes, to a degree it's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. But you gotta understand that every player on this team has now subscribed to the clubhouse mentality. There's no accountability anywhere, from anyone. Take your shots, but deep down you know there's accuracy in my statements.

Actually, Gibson only faced 12 shots last night in a period and a half. On the bright side, he did manage to make 7 saves.....

Gibson came back to earth last night. I think he proved that his upside is no better than an NHL back-up.

No need to duck. There's a lot to be said for this approach. Burakovsky's post-game comments were kind of disturbing. I know we joke a lot about tanking, but I actually thought the team was going to continue to play hard, at least until they were mathematically eliminated.

I agree IHM. Total clean house. If I were the owner, I think I would have smashed every TV after the Price is right thing.

I thought JT should have been traded in the summer a few days after not signing on 7/1. I'm so done with this JT drama.

To me John this team has not played hard for a long time. Maybe they thought they were but it does not seem like it to me.

I think everybody who plays work hard and want to win. That said a big part of it is how you work, the game plan you are executing and honestly that’s on the staff. Of course it lands on the GM as well as he puts together what the coach gets to work with.
At the end of the day clean house and get rid of them all!
