Kyle might be rid of already . Sucks that it might be from injuries . I don't wish that on anyone .

How pricey will JVR be ,. 30g scorers don't come cheap.

If he retires, we looooose Gorges off the books, would you buy out Bogo?

Then we're only stuck with Pominville and Moulson for next season.

That's probably close to what JVR will get on the open market. We've been speculating in the TO thread he'll probably get something between 6 and 7.

He's a good player. I'd love to keep him, but not sure how we'd be able to manage that once we need to give raises to Matthews and Marner in 2 years.

Oh yeah. There's been a lot of arguing over JVR.

Yesterday before the game one guy was going on about how anyone can score from where he does and how he was such a lazy player. The rest of us had a lot of fun with that comment after he scored his hat trick.

Guessing it would take 7x7m to land him. I don't want him for that.

It SHOWS that there are MANY OTHER FACTORS that also contribute

U can literally make that terrible faceoff analogy with anything

#1 defensemen are important, right?
But what about OEL

#1 Centers are important, right?
But what about Jack

And on & on & on

Pointing to what ONE player, on ONE team does... and how good/bad that team is as a direct result...
is a completely ridiculous argument

- jdfitz77

I’m still confused what point you are making.

We aren’t 31st because O’Reilly is great at fade offs, the point is there is no measurable value to being great at them, so it’s a who cares stat.

O’Reilly is great at face offs. Awesome. No one should care

Yeah, that's the biggest problem with players like him. Going to FA he's gonna get paid and despite being a good player it could end up an anchor contract after a few years.

It's hard to say. He doesn't really rely on speed, and he's not that physical except for fighting for position at the crease....so maybe he can stay productive for a while.

If he retires then i really dont see a need to buy out bogo. We dont need the cap space next year. Wouldnt surprise me if someone takes moulson off our hands, his salary next year is 3M, retain half and it would only cost a team 1.5M and count 5M against their cap.
