JVR and Marleau are the worst players to ever play the game, and they're both maple leafs. Just our luck eh boys? - TheMussel
What the Leafs need is a few more Bergeron's. Because they grow on trees and are so easy to acquire. |

They'd have to ban several people for this.
If people would stick to hockey and not name calling AND if people would understand that he wont change his opinion AND if people didnt take the convo so serious and get angry....than you can have a convo with him.
But Ug does himself no favours either, he really needs to be positive about something......anything.....at least once!
But I agree, if you dont want to rage, dont engage.

The commentators where talking about the Uncle Leo injury last night, how it could potentially be a big loss come playoff time and how he brings so much to the table...
I was like WHAT? I like Uncle Leo and all, but I am sure we have other scrubs who can fill in sufficiently like Moore...
Also, can we call up the entire AHL roster until the playoffs start? - Hockey_Reverend
I think they're talking about toughness and leadership. From my point of view, there's only one guy on the leafs who consistently finishes his checks. They will miss that if he's out for an extended period of time. |

true they will not have as many checks..but i really dont think it changes much else in the outcomes of the games.
Leo is where offense goes to die. I dont think the leafs miss a beat if he is out |

I think it helps in the playoffs, especially if they're playing Boston. |

If we replace Leo with, say, Johnsson or Leivo, chances are that they will be equally productive offense-wise, and won't provide any of the truculence that Komarov brings to the table.
Komarov isn't Gretzky, but replacing him with one of the less experienced forwards that we have in the system at this point is a downgrade. |

This is JVR's team. |

We need Leo to go head to head with Marchand in the first round bench chirping battles. |

Plenty of teams would like to add a guy like that....
Not that old too.
At this point Leafs pretty much gotta sign him no? Can't lose a guy like that for nothing. |

Any player that punches Marchand straight on the nose and breaks his beak will be my instant favorite player.
I'll buy his jersey, I swear to god I will. |

If the Leafs lose him for nothing, it won't actually be nothing.
They'll be trading him for cap space in order to maintain flexibility going forward with some big contracts on the horizon. Not ideal by any means but such is being a GM. |

I think it would be a mistake to let him walk. I get that you don't want to sign some crazy 8 year deal, but replacing him will be a bigger issue. If they instead sign a top d man for the money they saved, then fine. But if they go and sign the next Kris Russel then all hope is lost... |

Does anyone think JVR might take 6 X $5mm or $5.5mm to stay?
If they ditch The Bokek and Komogod can they afford to keep JVR? - .HOHO.
Maaaaybe.
But could the leafs line up at the beginning of next season not be as good as the line is right now? Due to cap concerns. Maybe.
Here's a thought......Hope the leafs skip out on trying to get JT and go for Seguin.
He's one year younger and faster.
JT's skating could be a concern in a 4 years.....maybe.
That's if either makes it to FA. |
