U know who wanted to get him 2 years ago before he would've cost a 1st 2nd and 3rd?
- nyrangers9479

Ryan Mcdonagh just returned in a trade....

1st round pick
2nd round pick
Libor Hajek(Former 2nd round pick)
Brett Howden(Former 1st round pick)

You think a 23 year old RFA coming off a Career year will only require 3 draft picks? Ok that seems fair. And let's just throw out the fact that he's arbitrtion eligible. Last but not least the wild have 11.7 million in cap space with only needing sign 6 guys.

I don't understand the stupidity with this situation.

Nope he was 21, on ELC having a 26 point season. Thus proving my ponit you don't know value.

So Mcdonagh worth 2 picks and 2 prospect at age 27, 16 months from UFA would be worth more than Dumba at age 23. Dumba having a career year, under control for 3 more years is worth less. What ever you smoke, I want some.

I'm the one that said it would be a 1st 2nd and 3rd? Or someone suggested offer sheeting him and that's what the compensation would be?

Brooksie just made me change my mind:
https://nypost.com/2018/0...isnt-who-you-think-he-is/

Never liked the guy, but he could be just the guy we need now.
Zuke stays and keep the "A".
Give Kovy the "C". Maybe that would make him sign a team-friendly deal...
He could possibly lift the cup in 2-3 years and become a NYR legend

I really don't think it makes much sense to trade Zucc at this point anyway.

I don't think his trade value will be that optimal at the draft, he's more valuable to the Rangers than to any other team at this point.

If the Rangers aren't contenders next year again, he could be traded at the deadline and then talk about bringing back after next season like they talk about Grabner and Nash possibly coming back.

if thats actually part of their thinking w/ signing kovy we're prob looking at a 2-3 year deal?

he;s not going to sign a 1 year deal refrenced by brooks just to leave when/if rykov and shesterkin come over

Uncle Daddy might be the deciding factor for Kovy signing with the Blues, besides them possibly making the playoffs this year.
