Simmonds really should have got to that loose puck ahead of Bellemare, but he took a bad angle to the boards and ended up with the puck behind him instead of in front of him. The Curse of the Former Flyer strikes again. - Feanor
I am glad the Curse of the Former Flyer didn't strike on Saturday against Byfuglien and the Jets |

Simmonds also lost a 50-50 battle. Plenty of blame to go around. - bmeltzer
Honestly, that's being generous to Simmer. |

He is not the same player from years past. I believe it to be an injury. I would move him at the draft. |

Couple of heart breaking losses within a week and people are ready to jump ship. I guess throw in the towel if you cant handle the ride. They're still in a play off spot. Yes it's possible they miss the playoffs. It's even more possible they make it. |

He just seems a lot less physical. I love the guy, don't know how I feel about possibly trading him. |

It was discussed a ton last offseason, but maybe Simmonds body is starting to feel the wear and tear from his style of play. It was debated whether his body could hold, even for the later years if we extend him After all, he’s never been a really “big” guy. I’m hoping it’s just a down year with injuries but I do think there’s a good chance he gets moved. [/img] |

I am the same. But I feel like his value will never be higher. I would also like to see a total revamp of the bottom six. Laughton, Raffl and four different players. A lot to ask but doable. |

Lehtera might be earning himself a 4th line role for next season. Unless they need the cap space. Simmonds is going to need a hell of a stretch run to keep his name out of trade rumors. I actually thought he was playing pretty well last night until he lost that battle. |

I'm not happy but I understand the panic slightly. I also see that these recent tough losses have been against teams 4-5-3 in the League standings. So I'm not going to lose my mind. The schedule gets easier from here with at least 5 teams they should be able to beat and the Rangers twice. |

There were several times during the game he and Raffl kept the puck down low with each other. Thought it was going to lead to something for them
...and they won't need the cap space next year |

He wasn't in no man's land on the last goal. He was forced to try and cover 2 opposition players due to breakdowns in the coverage by other players. MacDonald had a few miscues but otherwise played a solid game. - MJL
Sorry but the guy behind the net is no where near as dangerous as the man in front of it, unless he's Wayne Gretzky! |

It's going to be an exciting March. For better or for worse. Need to move on from the poorly timed awful stretch and start winning the meaningful games they have coming up. One game at a time. |

The PK is probably the Flyers Achilles heal....it’s why they are where they are....it exposes the team biggest weakness....defensive zone play. - landros 2
What pisses me off most is they haven't done a damn thing to improve it! So sick of the bad bounces and poor luck excuses when it comes to the PK. |

Raffl was fantastic last night. I think Lehtera is finding his niche. Strong on the puck with simple follow up plays. |

A lot of harping on the PP which I think has looked better in recent weeks. Not sure it's justified. The recent teams they've played have
the top ranked PPs in the league.
I'd say Mrazek was primarily responsible for both PK goals against last night. |

He's actually been playing pretty solid hockey. i can live with him on the 4th line one more season.
From my perspective, i think you can see what the future has if Simmonds were to be moved. Patrick looks like he could be a solid option on the 1st PP.
Lindblom seems to play a responsible 2 way game on the wing and as he gets more comfortable might see a little more physicality.

Really can't say that. It was a tough bounce. If the pas goes across the crease we are saying " why doesn't he tip that or cut that off from happening".
The karlsson goal he made a stop through traffic and I am pretty sure it was deflected. That's hard to keep under control and not give up a rebound.

First one was just tough luck...maybe a bit of a weak play, who knows. He had the right idea.
Second one I don't think I would put it primarily against Mrazek. Yeah, you'd like the rebound to not go to Karlsson, but there was a reason he was standing there. I'd hope for better coverage just as much as better rebound control. That wasn't an easy play |
