Yep!
Patrick, Konecny, Provorov, Sanheim, Lindbum, Morin, Hagg, Stolarz, Myers, Rubstov, Hart, etc.
We're very lucky but all of these guys are along time away from being at the top of their prespective games. - SuperSchennBros

Yeah, drafting over seas in the 90's and buying every big name they could before the cap. There 2008 Cup came from scraps from the pre cap era. |

hmmm who would have thought that the draft and develop approach actually works! |

The Detroit Red Wings would throw away their first round picks during this time. They're first round pick s were just spare parts to them. |

because in the late 80's and 90's they had an insane European scouting staff that no other organization really could compete with. then everyone started pouring money into Euro scouts and now it's fairly balanced across the league.
trading away 1st round picks in the hopes that you hit on 4th, 5th, and 6th round gems every year is an unsustainable strategy in the modern day NHL |

I've watched Rubstov play 5 or 6 times (albeit on 3 different teams too), never to impressed. I don't really see much upside with him. |

I think he has some good upside. I can see him developing into a useful player. Maybe 3rd line C or wing. |

Great wheels, good hockey sense. I think he’s one of those guys who will be a good complementary player on a scoring line or a guy who can play shutdown. He has potential to be a top notch PKer too. |

That sounds about right.
It's going to get really interesting over the next two years. Lots of prospects coming up. Only so many spots. |

Way too much overhaul in my opinion. Konency won't see enough icetime on that line. Lehtera is a 4th line player. Elevating him will limit his effectiveness. No reason to change the Patrick line. Simmonds isn't playing well enough to move to the top line. I do like the Filppula line though. |

No thanks on every line except maybe the 4th..
Why do you have TK on the 3rd?
Coots on the second in favor of NP on the first? |

The hell is NBC trying to do honestly? They had that Eagles player on last week and it was absolutely brutal. |

In terms of pushing fans away from hockey, I struggle to think about what else they could do to make their games less enjoyable and, yet, here we are. |
