The big Wingers Hextall has targeted since taking over are making their way into the organization. I think this list will go a long way to upgrading the bottom 6.
Lindblom
Bunnaman
Twaryinsky
Ratcliffe
Sushko
You also have Rubstov and Laberge still figuring out whether they're Cs or Ws.
And soon:
Allison
Strome - Baxter27
Maybe we can toss in Lacynski too since I am not sure he translates to center unless it is 4th line.

Agreed but doesnt change the fact that both Ghost and Coots not scoring right now is a bad thing.
At least those two drive play in other ways..the other names on that list not so much. - opeth_pa
it doesn't bother me that they aren't scoring because they are picking up assists. as long as someone is scoring when they are on the ice that is all I care about

Hell I come here to vent after stupid days at work, I dont really care - as long as folks have their own fun too.
Its always fun explaining to the girl as to what I am doing on this website. "So you argue with other grown guys about hockey?" - flyer_nutter
so true, the wife says "you writing your Flyers article again" I say no, MJL did, I am just arguing with him. All in good fun
Quite a nice list. I have a personal hatred for players who can't skate for poop so I am not counting Strome as of yet (although have to admit I've seen next to nothing for most of these guys).
Its funny though, still all about G in my eyes. Can he still be a really good player by the time the youth infusion is complete? If not, you need to find another elite war horse. Dont win with mediocrity. - flyer_nutter
The elite potential is with Patrick, Provorov, Ghost, Couturier, Konecny, Sanheim, Hart and Frost. The list of the big Wingers is more of a supporting cast. Ratcliffe could surprise if he's a home run.
I think Giroux and Jake showed this year they haven't fell off a cliff. They're going to have their ups and downs but they're special players that tend to have long careers.

having 3 lines who can score will definitely make G and Jake productive longer

But they really aren’t. They’ve scored 2 or fewer in way too many games recently. They really need to get the pp going and some goals from others besides the top 6 forwards.

teams key up on the top unit and the 2nd unit passes the puck around the outside, then they have Flip as the right side QB, you know Mr. O himself. I really think they should shift coots and patrick, I know one is right and one is left but both very smart players and could adjust. Maybe the real play is Simmonds for Patrick, someone last night said maybe the 2nd unit would actually get the puck to the net.

I’d replace Flip with Laughton on the 2nd unit as well, along with the Patrick/Simmonds switch. And I’d tell them: one pass, shoot, crash the (frank)ing net!

I have a friend from Syria that didn't understand the concept of watching hockey on TV. "Why are you watching someone else play hockey instead of playing yourself?" I explained to him I don't have an NHL contract yet but I'm working on it. I didn't have the heart to tell him not only do I waste time watching other people play, I go on message boards and argue with grown men about how other people play a game.

Of course but that is not my point. sure the PP needs to get going but what I am saying is Couturier's line (whether even strength or PP) has 10 goals over those 12 games and he has directly been involved in 6 of them. While Ghost has not scored in 19 games, he has been directly involved in 16 goals in that span.
the rest of the players he mentioned need to start chipping in. i am more concerned with those players

Some probably never made it through high school. This is based on people routinely spelling lose as l-o-o-s-e.

agree, Watching Flip take the drop pass and enter the zone is painful, as well as him being on the 1/2 wall. I just dont think Hak will change down the stretch, i get it. It has worked for the most part so far. Injury is the only way I see a change, or 2 more loses in a row.
why I have been saying it is tough decision time for Hak, losing streak, struggling PP and certain vets shxting the bed. Make the tough call if you have too.

Well, technically, the 2nd unit has been mediocre to bad most of the season.

when did they make it to mediocre? the blend of the 1st unit and 2nd, hide the 2nd.
If it were up to me, Giroux will never play center again. - MBFlyerfan
He's been fantastic at LW. I hate to separate him from Coots. But being a 2 line team is biting them in the ass. They need to solve it. Raffl did his best last game but Filp and Simmonds eventually came up short. They need Couturier focused defensively.
