True. Some goalies don't come into their own until relatively late........sometimes in their late 20s.

He's looked a lot better than Greiss.

50 saves on 52 shots. I let Gibson ride out the rest of the season. He looks pretty sharp so far. Would be amazing if we accidentally found our starter for the next few years. Got my fingers crossed that he's one of those players that gets called up to the NHL and for some reason that's what gets him to the next skill level.

Gabby was the reason they won. Played very well. I thought Smith was a bit Rusty for his first game back being off / injured for a while. A save % of .848 vs a normal .923 tells me we were fortunate they started a rusty Smith against us.

Capitals will be a dose of reality next game.

He's 25. That's usually the proper age for a goalie to step in and become the starter. It would be such a relief if he really did become a complete stud. We've been waiting for a stud starter for freakin decades. Would also be amazing if Soderstrom and Sorokin both came over and also turned into studs. Would love nothing more than be completely stacked at this position.

That would be wonderful, but Soderstrom is injured, I think, and Sorokin re-upped in the KHL for a couple more seasons.
