Challenging a goal and losing results in loss of TO. They challenged offside which if wrong results in a penalty. - Thorny87
this might be the correct explanation and if thats the case ill gladly defer haha |

The offside issue was meant to shutdown obvious missed calls. I agree this is offside...but no one...not a single person saw this in real time. It was not egregious and it didn't actually lead to the goal. This is only picked up well after the goal after 30 video pros all scour everything leading to every goal. Same can be said about the subtle bumps goalies take that lead to 5min breaks while idiot refs try to figure out if they wanna throw themselves under the bus or not. We r very close to becoming something akin to the NFL...a league that somehow needed to define a catch and surprisingly managed to get it wrong. I do not want to see the nhl go even further down this road. |

hahaha oh my...I enjoyed last nights game, not as much as the great battle vs the Flyers the game before or the two OT wins preceding the the Flyers game. All good times I tremendously enjoyed. Hell, these past 11 years have been very enjoyable. Sure, there's been some injury and early playoff heartbreaks, ups and downs, but over this time its been one hell of a ride and it continues. Extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Pens were missing their starting goalie and 3 wingers that are all better than three guys that dressed last night...but lets not let facts get in the way of your delusional sense of achievement. - MattStrat

It will be huge. I do think the Leafs will win a cup in the Matthews era. Whether it happens anytime soon I don't know, but I believe it will happen. |

Doubt we are all alive to see it. But yeah it would be huge. Being completely honest if the leafs do damage this off-season they could make noise next year. This year is not the year for them, sry. |

Our expectations are high - unlike you Leaves fans.
Matthews would have made zero difference in my opinion. If anything Kadri probably wouldn't have scored 2 goals had Matthews played. Strange how it sometimes works out. So again my first response to you is proven, but keep it up we enjoy the challenge.
You aren't from Alaska are you? A town called Chicken?? - Aussiepenguin
Yeah, probably not... it just would have probably been 7-2, which in the end wouldn't have mattered.
Nope, I'm from Alberta, a town called Calgary.. |

You're losing it.
You may have seen 3-1 for a moment, but the third pens goal got overturned. |

Putting biased aside, I think they'll pull it off.. No team got that good that fast other than PIT and CHI.. Toews/Keith/Kane Sid/Malkin/flower/Letang...
Matthews/Marner/Nylander/Freddy.. they have the peices. |

Oh cmon now. Matthews has done squat against the pens. I would take a game with matthews and minus Dean Morton anyday. |

Not really man. Is that what you got from all that? High horse?...ive been a fan 30 years.. Stretches of being worst team in league. Crosby and Malkin obviously tourned it around. It's been fun. Their time will come much sooner then I'd like but at the same time there's been four finals appearances and 3 cups not to mention all the individual awards and seasons. They have accomplished alot, so when the fall does come, it's going to be cushioned by a F load of achievements and great memories. Even if they bow out first or second round this bear it doesn't mean they've fallen. It'll be several years yet. |

The only glaring obvious missing piece is the stud d man. Maybe a good backup so Freddy doesn't have to see 30k shots a season. Find a way to pry doughty out of LA. And ur talking. |

I think you start seeing them go deep in the playoffs in about two or three years. If you guys somehow lure Tavares? It's over for everyone in the East. |

I think Rowney is literally the only forward I would loathe more than Sheary playing on Sid's wing. |

Leafs are:
Highly skilled.
Super fast.
Very hungry.
Well coached
Well rested.
There's no reason why they couldn't go all the way. Just gotta stay hot.. they've beaten every good team this year, and have shown they can compete with the big boys.. But that Marner guy... when he's on (which he is) the puck just follows him and winds up in the net.. |

You are not wrong. It's just your path to the cup is Boston....tampa....hopefully Pitts.. ..then maybe nash/Winn. I just don't see them running that gauntlet with a 80% matthews and let's not forget no captain. Has a team ever won without one....dont think so. |

He's played like 5 games against them lol.. I would advise to not take him lightly haha.. he's pretty much the best 5vs5 player already and he doesn't need much to score.. |
