this is probably right but the potential impact is far higher because of how much 1 player makes a difference in the nba

Also the NBA is atrocious. Like as bad Luigi Cadorna was as an Italian general in WW1, am I right guys?

You have to think he and Bogosian became friends in a hospital somewhere

Why not? Him or CJ should get the nod. Show us a future Sabre.
- RhinoFan

They should bring up Mancari or Rob Conn.

Hmmm, small, skilled D - Hughes. He didn't look all that great at WJC. I'm not a fan of falling back to draft for need. I like taking best talent available. It usually plays out better. When you have better talent you have better capital to deal for positions of need if need be and you get better talent back as well.
- GilPerreault11

Well the big guys we brought in for D have led us to the promise land of 31st so I thought we'd try something new lol.

Hughes looked like a first year world junior D-man. He had his moments, good and bad. hes scoring very well for Michigan and those who watch him regularly compare him to zack werenski.

Im not saying they should fall back for need, you literally can't do that it's a lottery

Im saying my preference would be a scenario where BPA happens to be a d-man. You could land a winger but that would mean betting on say reinhart or nylander to bring back a d-man as good as what hughes or boqvist project to be. Not sure I like those odds.

He’s just upset I took his seat in the players lounge, and Hasek texts me more than him.

It may be a lottery but you increase your chances by finisher lower, also you mentioned dropping back. So, you hope for us to lose the lottery so we have the chance to draft lesser talent Yeah, that is the strategy for winners!!

I hope we lose the lottery because the rumour that we have Tkachuk #2 on our list is terrifying. Id like that to not even be an option. It's only one rumour however, i'd take any of the consensus top 3, I just firmly believe they need a top D out of this off season.

Pinning your franchise's hopes on a lottery is a suckers game anyways. I personally think Hughes is better than Tkachuk or Boqvist so you could take him at 4 or something but you would technically be "reaching". You could probably trade down a few spots and still get him if they really wanted him.

Is this the "Vegas Effect" where hungrier players seem to overachieve/outperform more established players. Vegas will most likely have (4) 70pt players on their team...no "elite" talents amongst them.

OR

How can the Sabres resurgence be explained? I don't think anyone is of the mind that we are better without Eichel...why is it we lose our superstar and start winning more often?

- RhinoFan

Is it not pretty obvious...there are some who are making themselves look good, playing for a new contract and some others who have decided to play better "to be worth their current contract." Just my opinion.

Call me crazy but I think Boqvist could crack the top 4 possibly even top 3

Enough with this tanking crap. Play to win each game. Make the management and scouts earn their pay by identifying the right players to be drafted.

I don't buy that Tkachuk is #2 on the Sabres list so I'm not worked up into a tizzy about what some two-bit commentator said on a local Calgary broadcast spit out.

Not to mention teams haven't even put their draft boards together, finished their scouting, had the combine so there is a long way to go before they have their final draft lists.

I want nothing to do with tkachuk at this point. Hes a guy youd like to find at the end of the 1st or second. I guess Boqvist is putting up some historical numbers in Sweden. Wahlstrom also climbing the rankings

I never said Sam was a bust .. he's a Drew Stafford
- gerbe75pts

Stafford scored 20 or more goal in a season 4 times in he's 9 seasons in Buffalo..

First 5 year's

13
16
20
14
31

If sam continues at his current pace he will have 2 in 3 seasons...

23
17
17 (2018)

And Stafford played with MUCH better players

marek's not all that great but he's not eklund bad. The fact that any team would rank him that high is just weird.

Fun fact, he's this kid:

I think Tkachuk is a top 10 pick, but the ceiling is too low to be a top 5 guy, especially with guys like boqvist, zadina and hughes there.
