YEA. First time I can say Gorton franked up. What can you do tho. At that moment it wasn’t terrible
- Slimtj100

Idk if you can call that trade a (frank) up. This team was close last year. Can't fault him for trying.

And Smith was really good in his first few months here. Can't fault Gorton for Smith's (frank) up in the off season.

They needed that element for the playoffs, and if they didn't choke, they would have returned to the semis. He actually played well, which seems like forever ago.

I hope he bounces back

Too many weddings and beers thsi past offseason....Hopefully, taking the bus to back to back to back games in three nights wakes him the fuuuuuuck up

He is something they lack with clearing the crease a bit. Hank was talking last night to Ruff about getting that shyt straightened out.

I’m personally not ready to blow him off yet...leave that to his new wifey haha

Honestly, I think the worst part about the whole thing is that they bought out Girardi, took on all that dead cap money for the next several years on the buyout, and then signed Smith to a deal that wasn't too much different that what Girardi had left.

That right there is a serious fail.

I like Gorton and everyone blows one, but that whole sequence was a hooked shot into the trees.

I think they need to catch up on Hajek, because apparently his World Juniors impressed a lot of people.

Yea good point. Have one bad contract instead of two. But at the moment he was a need but def not a great sequence for gorton

After this year, the Rangers would have had two years left on the Girardi deal. Amazingly, the guy is playing real well in Tampa, and after he left the Rangers defense turned to crap. I am not saying that there is a definite correlation, but ....

And the Rangers signed Shatty and Smith to a poop ton of money. They literally may have bought out the best defensemen of the three, and gave the other two goo gobs of cash. Aye yai yai.

Nobody is worse than Craig Button. I think he just tries to be as different as possible.

I am all for taking a shot on these college UFAs for free. I have no problem with that.

But, I am 95% sure I know what the guy is at this point, and I don't want him taking away playing time from Chytil, Andersson, etc. next year. I have no doubt in mind that the Rangers can play 19-20 year old kids that will be at least as productive and probably more.

What pisses me off is NJ gets 1 (frank)ing college free agent and he pans out

Hayes panned out for us. And Girardi fits into that class as well since he was an undrafted free agent.

Five picks in the Top 45 would be nice.
