you know I dont recall Hayes and Buch really ever skating together.. That wouldnt be a bad 2/3's of a line - mrn22
I don't think they ever did. It was either 1st line or 4th line for Buch. No in between. |

moving forward, I am very concerned about Buchenvich's durability and his finishing ability. Luckily we have one more year on his ELC at 925K to figure that one out. - jimbo83
To be honest I am concerned about Buchnevich and Zibanejad,s durability. Both these guy are the type hockey poolers stay away from or gamble. Also Vesey has showed that he is a fringe nhler and losing him would be a blessing, soft and does not bring a lot to the table. Kreider has also proven to be an injury waiting to happen. Pretty tough decisions ahead for management. |

I knocked it for the longest time, trust me. It's a once in a blue moon sort of thing, but keeps it interesting. |

A ton of RFAs coming up w/ arbitration rights...some will HAVE to go. NYR can't continue to pay average players 5 mill. per.
Vesey, Hayes, Zibby, Zuuc, spooner, vladdy, Kreider, etc can't all be signed and have 4-5 mill cap hits...
If so then top end talent isn't ever going to be able to be afforded - rrentz
Kreider is signed for 2 more years. Zibby can go (frank) off. I'm done with him |

What? He is usually the only one out there hitting and mixing it up. You can criticize a lot of Vesey's play, but soft aint one of them. |

Whether or not Kreider is signed for two more years is besides the point. If all of these guys sign in NY than most of them will have 4-5 mill contracts. NO good |

If we move on from a lot of the current players (Vesey, Zib, potentially Zuc and Vlad in trades, Buch, DD, hopefully McLeod, etc.) what role players are set to become FA that would be good signings? |

Kreider an injury waiting to happen? He missed 2, 3 and 7 games the previous 3 years. Guy got a blood clot. Not really sure that qualifies as an injury waiting to happen. |

I would sign Kovy and JVR and trade Zucc Vesey Namestnikov
JVR Chytil Kovy (JVR and Kovy would take a ton of pressure off Chytil)
Kreider Zib Buch
Andersson Hayes Spooner |

I'm not ready to completely give up on Vesey yet, but I think he should only get a minimal 1 year deal, work his ass off this summer and has to earn a job next training camp |

I just think he's a bottom 6 player. Vesey and Fast on the 4th line isn't bad at all, with Vesey being the flex if needed to move up to the 3rd. |

Kreider has an injury history?. What are you talking about lol this year is a freak thing, almost like an illness. Maybe now it’s a thing to worry about, but hes never been “an injury waiting to happen”
With that said, he is underwhelming at times, but on a team with so little game breakers he’s probbaly our best one.
Vesey is a dud I agree, like most are saying here today |

There is going to be a line of young guys that can provide similar production on entry level contracts that are just waiting to take his spot. I don't see him as a Top 6 player. I don't see him as an ideal fourth liner. And, the third line can be the proving ground for some of these young kids that the organization has drafted.
Basically, what I am saying is that Vesey is (frank)ed as a Ranger sooner or later.
