They identify with the alienation of the character and/or Salinger's isolation I assume? Or they're obsessed with a flaky chick. - Zezel
So you're saying they were already crazy? Or are just having a tough time getting laid by trying to get the attention of their friend that's dating someone else by writing dark poetry and making them mix tapes? When Catcher in the rye is your best friend, you need to go to the library/online and find some better books. I mean, any book, any book... |

There would definitely be some dark poetry and mix tapes in the mix. One minute you're making a mix tape, next thing you know you're playing that mix tape driving around in a windowless van with a roll of duct tape in your glove compartment. |

Yes. Poetry and mix tapes is a slippery slope. The gateway to serial crime. |

I decided to read some Stephen King for the first time since I was a kid, and he's written about a zillion books since then. Started reading the Dark Tower series, I'm on the third one now. I forgot how much I love his voice. There was always that thing about how he didn't get any credit as a serious writer because of the horror genre - although I think that perception has changed - but where I really don't think he gets credit is as a comic writer. There's so much really deadly, deadpan humour in his stuff. I'm really enjoying it. I've never read a long series of books either, so I'm stoked that I have thousands more pages to go in this story.
His twitter feed is amazing too. Go Leafs Go. - Zezel
The first King book I read was It...brilliant "monster" fiction |

I noticed Wedgie was working really hard to lure Rick James to a beer at the ACC. Then he was probably going to offer him a ride to his hotel room. A couple of 'accidental' wrong turns and they're down at the port lands with no one around...when the mix tape is playing no one can hear you scream... |

That's my favourite book of his, although I've only read maybe a dozen or so out of his massive catalogue. Read that when I was a kid, it made me poop my pants. I remember reading it twice, even though it's a doorstop of a book. I love that book. |

The dark tower series is such a great read...some books are a little drawn out....but thats what i find with king....he likes to fill pages with over description.
But a great series.

Welcome to BOOKBUZZ
I guess this is what happens when the Leafs don't play for a week??
My favourite author is Edgar Rice Burroughs. SIMPLY AMAZING. First time I read one of his John Carter books I was in awe...
Shout out to Jules Verne 'Journey to the Center of the Earth...'. The chapter when the boy is lost in the pitch dark tunnel is terrifying...

Gotta wonder if the Leafs looked at it, and if they just have a hard rule about giving up a first for a rental.
Because swapping a 2nd for a 1st to go from Pleks to Stastny is a no-brainer, unless you don't think this is "your year".
I also wonder what Stastny is going to get this summer. Hasn't really shown any drop-off these last few years. Would be a nice Bozak replacement, with maybe Johnsson/Kap/Leivo as his wingers.
Hyman(sigh)-Matthews-Nylander
Marleau-Kadri-Marner
Johnsson-Stastny-Kapanen
Leivo-Gauthier-Martin?
pretty good-looking line up, and pretty sure we save some money not re-signing Bozak/JVR/Komarov. Probably enough to add another d-man, too. |
