Devils looked better without Zajac. And Schneider guaranteed to always be outdueled these days by the other goaltender.

And if we're going to pay a goalie 6 mill a year to lose 10 straight games we might as well just put a cardboard cutout in net. He's not the only reason they're losing obviously but he certainly is no help.

He’s not the sole reason obviously but when you look at other teams like tonight and see their goalie steal games, when was the last time he's done that?

He should have had two of those. The 3rd goal he saw all the way. 0-10 is sort of telling. Yeah they should have scored more, but damn when your #1 goalie is 0-10 wtf am I supposed to think. The team played excellent tonight but lost without a point. Frankly if Schneider stopped one of the two he should have it would have been different.

Blaming Schneider is easily one of the dumbest things I've read here, which is saying a lot.

We have no goaltending which is the problem, and yes lately that includes Schneider

And I'm just pointing out one problem on top of what is a young inexperienced group not use to the grind of an 82 game season with what is essentially playoff like hockey.

My playoff hopes went from on the fence/maybe hopefully but probably not, to it aint going to (frank)ing happen period. And if we do somehow make it, Cory will choke like he did in Vancouver and suck when it counts the most and (frank) us. KK sure as hell isnt carrying this team. Were (frank)ed. Whats another year right? This sucks.

There are several games this year where he let in one too many easy goals from what I recall, mayne I am wrong. He cant play the puck and now cant stop it either. Face it he sucks, or at least he has A LOT these past two years. I dont have any suggestions either, just frustrated with him underperforming at key moments. I always liked him and have given him the benefit of the doubt, but I think hes an issue and will be moving forward. I would love to be wrong, and I hope I am, but have more than a suspicion I am not unfortunately.

This one definitely stings. I dont wanna lose hope but im not optimistic we'll make it, especially if we dont have TZ or Zacha for this trip. Goaltending has been spotty all season, no matter who is in net, our offense has dried up aside from the habs game, but at the same time we're not playing terribly. A bounce here or there and we could've picked up multiple points and/or wins in the last 4 losses, multiple posts in 15 seconds against florida and a late post against carolina were honestly the difference between us getting 0 points and potentially grabbing some wins.

If we were playing like poop and losing these games then it's a different story, but we've been pretty competitive most of the time(except for the carolina game) which is a positive if you want to find one. I'm not giving up hope but its probably gonna be rough

Wow do I hate this attitude.

If you told any of us in September that in mid March the team would be actively fighting for a wild card spot, we would have been thrilled. The "problem" is that the team had an unsustainably great start, and so going from where they were around New Years to where they are now feels like a big disappointment. They won a bunch of games in the first half of the year where they shouldn't have, and the last few weeks I feel like they've lost a bunch that they deserved to win. It evens out and frankly "on the wild card bubble" feels right for this team, and again if you told any of us that in September we would have been thrilled.

And "our team won't look much different next season" ??? Do you get how player development works? Nico, Bratt, Butcher, and Coleman are all rookies. Zacha and Wood are still very young. These are all players that will most likely improve, some dramatically so. This is how rebuilds work. You're bad, you get a bunch of good young players, and as they get better the team gets better.

And I also hate the idea that "well if we barely miss the playoffs and now get a not great pick the whole thing was a waste." Sure I get the idea that technically if you're not in the playoffs or contending for a Cup you may as well be in the lottery, but first of all I think it's important for these young core players (and definitely Hall) to play in seriously meaningful games late in the season even if they fall short. And furthermore as a fan I watch this team and sports in general to have fun, and I can tell you regardless of whether they make the playoffs at this point, this year has been by far the most fun Devils' season since 2012. That counts for something.

Their season is by no means over. They've been playing well and have unfortunately been on the wrong end of a bunch of close losses to really good teams. The goaltending has been suspect of late but we all know Cory is capable of being elite. I'm excited to watch the last month of the season, even if it ends with them missing the playoffs. Obviously that will be disappointing but it sure as hell beats last season where I had almost no desire to watch this team by mid January.
