Welp, we suck without intentionally tanking. Congrats, we go from a 12.5% chance to an 18% chance of winning Dahlin.

Wahlstrom being considered in the top 3 forward group, while Tkachuk moves down a hair.

Beat the 49ers by 16 in the regular season, smoked the Giants 21-0 in the playoffs, oh and blanked D!ckerson and the Rams 24-0. They allowed 10 points that post season. 10......... just saying
- dadeadhead

The Bears had allowed 3 total points in the 3 games before the Monday night game against Miami.

They were down 31-10 at the half and gave up 38 total.

They may have lost in the Super Bowl against the Bears, but to declare it some mismatch for Chicago is nonsense IMO.

Per ISS, top 10 ranks from Feb to March

1 – Dahlin, Rasmus – LD – Vastra Frolunda – SweE Even
2 – Svechnikov, Andrei – RW – Barrie – OHL Even
3 – Zadina, Filip – RW – Halifax – QMJHL Up 1
4 – Tkachuk, Brady – C – Boston University – H. E Down 1
5 – Wahlstrom, Oliver – C – USA U18 – NTDP Up 2
6 – Bouchard, Evan – RD – London – OHL Even
7 – Hughes, Quinn – LD – U. of Michigan – Big Ten Up 1
8 – Boqvist, Adam – LD – Brynas IF Jr – SweJE Down 3
9 – Veleno, Joseph – C – Drummondville – QMJHL Even
10 – Dobson, Noah – RD – Acadie-Bathurst – QMJHL Even

Not much movement. Boqvist seems to be moving the most in other mocks.

It is the smarter play, to lose with dignity thereby earning a chance at a 1st overall, while also protecting against the risk of falling to far back in a worst case scenario.
Who gives a poop about wining at all the rest of the year...3/4 of these guys will be gone in ‘19-20 if they even play that season.

Hell, I’d even be on board with next year sucking and picking top 5 again. Accumulate high-end talent...then let it all simmer for an additional year during the presumptive lock-out/strike.

Clearly, this roster needs as much high-end talent as possible to come out the other side as champion caliber.

Ranked between 5 and 9 in all mocks. Most fluid. Everyone else hardly changes.

Obviously 23 could’ve scored on the crossbar shot, #dignity

If Nelson doesn’t have a contract by draft day, stock up your tanks for 2019

It sucks, but it is true.

They need an incredible amount of things to go right to be a bubble team.
Next year should be about getting on the same page “system” wise, and planning for the following season when some of the albatross contracts for dead-weight players can be eliminated one way or another thereby enabling more room for our pipeline and some smart UFA spending to plug holes...not secure big contracts for aged player in the twilight of their careers.

Be smart JBotts, be smart.

Would I be wrong in thinking that either one would be very good on Eichel's right wing?

Nope. They appear to be very similar production wise.
And, then there is this...everyone looks good on Eichel’s wing...if Girgenson can, I would expect Geordie Howe to still look good there...and that would be a miracle (lol).

Buddy Ryan would’ve eaten him alive.

Marino has zero weapons.

Walter Payton who’s a top 5-10 player of all time didn’t score in that super bowl.

Miami beat the Bears earlier that season

I’m glad Miami didn’t win it that year.
Just like I’m glad The Pats didn’t win this year.

Go get Baker Beane, Jesus Christ!
If the last several pages haven’t convinced you that a franchise QB is required to get to the Championship Table, nothing will.
We finally have enough capital to do it, but now we want to fill holes...
Word - there will ALWAYS be holes to fill.
Don’t blow it Beane, this is your time to shine, do it!

Agreed, well except for possibly next year too, as mentioned above.
That is a real possibility based on
-how much work is required for Botts to accomplish in one offseason
-how much has to go right for them to “be good”
-the reality of a lock-out looming, thereby given the younger stars another year to mature and develop.

This year is almost finished...we can do one more if required.

At least 2 of Bailey, Baptiste and Guhle need to take a big step next season for starters.
