yotes have a very good top 5 defense group.
forwards are young, but developing. they are getting better as the year is going on.
if they can keep oel/hammer/raanta, they'll be good in 1-2 years. - Tumbleweed
I think it was brain-dead stupid to hire Chayka.
Having said that, no GM is going to do well there.
It's a terrible situation - and until they sort it out, that team will never do well. |

Ok.
Doesnt answer the question.
what exactly has he done that he should be lou's replacement? - Fakepartofme
the Teams he has been involved in seems to turn around OHL/AHL/Leafs. analytics and player development are big parts of it..I want a GM who is not 75 years old and signs Polak again

That is from the talent drafted the last three years. He really hasn’t signed anything of significance with the Marlies.
If signing him as the GM of Leafs means losing Hunter, then I rather have Hunter. - LeafMan
I still like the idea of a team in office. If they have to pick one for the sake of being official, fine, but if we had Hunter as GM and Dubas as Assistant GM, we'd be in better shape than just one with full reigns. |

Not as much of a female genitalia as his brother, but a bit more skill. Less "drive and dirty" play. Probably the 3rd best forward in the draft though. So Boom, I suppose. Only issue is that he has the worst shot of the top-5 forwards in the draft. Not a huge deal, but for a talented guy he doesn't have the same shot as the others. |

ignoring finances, he's actually assembled a team that could be good; but its hanging by a thread.
i question if he's lost the room. duclair wanted out. apparently domi wants out. if he loses domi and a a couple veterans, it will all fall apart.
more to managing than just bringing guys in. |

dubas might be stat based, but he cut his teeth managing in the juniors. he's not a keyboard gm like tanner.
i'm just not interested in rocking the boat right now. - Tumbleweed
right and he is nothing like Chayka..even though detractors want to lump Speadsheet people together. I am skeptical of Arizona and thier black box methods. wouldnt want him as GM |

I’m ok with that, we can’t afford to lose Hunter, we need to keep the cupboards full of good prospects coming. |

I doubt that, he has been better lately, I can’t put myself to pay for that site when they have an idiot like that Wheeler guy writing there. |

I like Hunter a lot. I'm originally from London so I kept an eye on the Knights. That being said, I think it's still a bit early to determine for sure if he's actually any good at drafting in the NHL. I think he is, and I'm hoping a lot of picks pan out, but so far, jury is out. |

His numbers are pretty bloody good for a draft eligible guy. He's not Eichel obviously, but he's in the usual range of PPG for top-12 guys from the NCAA. Most of those are 5'11 and under too and while it's dumb to hold it against a player, we all know the NHL loves the idea of a 6'3 "power" forward.
Boqvist would be the boom/bust guy. Has a poop ton of talent, but he's a whirlwind like Gardiner. Not sure if he stays in the top-5 anyways. |

Hunters drafting so far has been good..not great or amazing.
The biggest thing has been having more picks in general. again Dubas is big on drafting and player development. |

Dubas made a pretty decent deal for Kessel all things considered. He had one team to deal with, who had limited cap space, so he got what he could while moving out a problem in the locker room. |
