Interesting Article from Mirtle on the Next Leafs GM (he thinks Dubas) ..either after the playoffs or Lou stays around 1 more year.
Could push Hunter away though, as he wants to Job also according to him.
Hopefully its Dubas asap - senstroll
Hopefully it’s Hunter asap. Don’t need another Kessel deal from spreadsheet boy. |

Why...because Dubas has demonstrated he's ready to be the Leafs GM by doing what, exactly? |

Isn't hunter mostly a Boy-Scout? It'd be nice to sign Lou again for another year or two. Whatever they're doing, it's working and I am scared poopless of change right now. |

Meh, but what exactly has Dubas shown to qualify him to the lou's replacement?
I dont mind him, could be a breath of fresh air..but I just dont see what he's done so far.
I heard on the radio Hunter could be a candidate for the seattle job in a year or so. |

He can join the other spreadsheet boy in Arizona who is building such a powerhouse there.
Leafs don’t need him, Hunter is more valuable to the Leafs. |

I'd be cool with that. I've seen a lot of dorks looking for Lou's head since he didn't do anything at the deadline, but really, standing pat was the right thing.
He's quite a patient (frank)er for a guy who is old enough to die of natural causes at almost any time. |

Isn't Dubas the Marlies GM?
They've had like 3 straight 40+ win seasons.. |

That is from the talent drafted the last three years. He really hasn’t signed anything of significance with the Marlies.
If signing him as the GM of Leafs means losing Hunter, then I rather have Hunter. |

i'm disappointed we were not both a buyer and seller (sell jvr, buy a dman). idk, but i guess he didn't force through a deal he didn't like - patience. |

yotes have a very good top 5 defense group.
forwards are young, but developing. they are getting better as the year is going on.
if they can keep oel/hammer/raanta, they'll be good in 1-2 years. |

I think Hunter should stick to drafting. He's good at it and if he gets a GM job he'll have a lot more pressure on him which could lead to making bad deals.
Dubas I think would be controlled by Lou for a year or two. Lou would oversee his moves and give him his contacts/relationships around the league. |

dubas might be stat based, but he cut his teeth managing in the juniors. he's not a keyboard gm like tanner.
i'm just not interested in rocking the boat right now.

But the above has been said for a couple years now.
This was suppose to be the year they really improve....hence all the moves they did.
but same result. |
