His numbers are pretty bloody good for a draft eligible guy. He's not Eichel obviously, but he's in the usual range of PPG for top-12 guys from the NCAA. Most of those are 5'11 and under too and while it's dumb to hold it against a player, we all know the NHL loves the idea of a 6'3 "power" forward.

Boqvist would be the boom/bust guy. Has a poop ton of talent, but he's a whirlwind like Gardiner. Not sure if he stays in the top-5 anyways.

edit: on 2nd thought: tkackuk's numbers still just don't jump out. idk, but i'd be weary of drafting him. seems like size and name may have him over-rated.

I get the skepticism, but I think him and Morisson are doing really well.
- LeafMan

So do I. But I know zilch about drafting.
I'll make my judgments on their drafting skills when more of their picks are playing on the Marlies/Leafs and go from there.

Hunters drafting so far has been good..not great or amazing.
The biggest thing has been having more picks in general. again Dubas is big on drafting and player development.

Most GM's are nowadays.
What are you judging hunters drafting on?

it was that beautiful, eh?

Only movie that I have ever cried to was Cool Runnings....

- PatC80

Speaking of Cool Runnings...did you see the German coach for the Jamaican womens' bobsled team got fired and took her sled so they wouldn't be able to race. She said buy the sled from me for 20k euros, which the team couldn't afford. So Red Stripe stepped up and gave them the money to buy the sled and compete at the Olympics

I know who they picked. Marner and Matthews are no brainer picks cant really credit those. I would have picked them. And pretty much Liljegren..he was pretty much the high upside pick at 17.

the rest are still question marks. outside of Dermott who Dubas had a hand in the 2015 draft also. to what degree on who they took I dont know...but someone traded down 2 times

the Teams he has been involved in seems to turn around OHL/AHL/Leafs. analytics and player development are big parts of it..I want a GM who is not 75 years old and signs Polak again

Read Mirtle article if you need more

Geez I hope the new younger GM signs Doughty as our 6/7 D.

I wonder if Melnyk and Dorion think the 17-18 Sens are pooptier than the 18-19 Sens... would love to be a fly on the wall for that decision when they finish 25-27th overall.

I know how we can settle this Dubas vs Hunter debate.

We need a reporter to ask them each separately their opinions on players such as Komarov and Polak and their future with the team. Depending on their responses we'll have a much more informed decision on which to root for.

The kid will be so happy he's in the lineup he won't give a (frank) it isn't the right position.

That top pairing would be dangerous.

If I had to venture, I'd bet he'd be better at defense than Gardiner. To be fair, Gardiner is probably a better winger than Leivo.

Do it Babs.

Love that gif.

And judging the Sens management group. They'll probably assume they will be better next year and use this pick if its anywhere in the top 5. They seem to have a habit of thinking they're better than they are.
