Needs to be for a 1st + another good asset
- Nucker101

I would do it for a decent center and second or a good D prospect and second

if the prospect is really good then yeah, I'd take the prospect and a lower pick.

I think we were all dreaming about Foote + 1st

Yzerman wouldn't even include him for McDonagh lol

It's probably going to be Toronto pushing the hardest for him. I just hope it's not for something stupid like Kapanen + Leivo + 2nd

Energy drinks are pretty heavy man, half of one is enough to keep me high energy for a few hours. 2 per game with that amount of caffeine he must be the most chill dude when he hasnt had any

I would also do for guys like Jordan Greenway or Bellows straight up.

I think if it is TB it would be Raddysh and a second. The kid has a nose for the net

Now that we have seen a glimpse of life after Tanev , would you move him at the draft?
- VANTEL

Well there are two paths forward with this defence

1) Do nothing and bring this group of 8 back again and magically hope they improve

2) Get really proactive with Tanev and Edler and just biting the bullet on being ass for a year when you're already ass anyway.

I guess there is a third that is "trade Hutton"/other lipstick on a pig options which is the barest of minimums of change that still won't change anything really.

I think JB will continue the safe route at the draft. The "we're getting a good player" line like last year.

Their defence is a mess. I was stunned they didn't push their chips in to make a move this year. The gap between contenders and pretenders is way smaller this year than others.

That return on the surface isn't a bad return, but when you're already rocking a roster of like 7-9 tweeners hanging about who all require waivers it becomes a disaster. I'd even take a "lower" value return for him that was focused on defence in return.

I'd ruin my pants if the team got back into the first and second rounds again this year and walked out of the draft with like 3 Dmen in the top 60.

Watching Bo's interview today about Brock was nice, it's a fantastic thing that while we don't have all the pieces yet for a future contending team, at least we already have the leadership we'll need

As per Ryan Biech Canucks do not have enough cap space this year to pay Brock his 850 k bonus , It will be applied to next year

I guess that's the price you pay when you have a high end roster

Pretty sure he wants to play one of the last few games to reach the 30 goal plateau.
- denisbeauregard

Meh, He's got a sore wrist as it is. No bonuses for a 30th goal.

Just sit the kid let him recoup for next year and let the other kids roll the rest of the way.

He literally has nothing to play for. Pointless.

They were over the cap because of the LTIR. You can bring someone in of same value but apparently it counts towards the cap hit

Can't use LTIR exemption space for bonuses.

The bigger issue is that a 28th place team is capped out under 20/23 of their own contracts.

But Tanev and Dorsett alone saved us millions in cap.

Its just sad. Like this a team with a lot of guys on ELCs and there wasn't much cap foresight for even one of them hitting bonuses.

Imagine thinking your best defenceman and leading scorers are a drag on your salary cap.
