Here is something to consider.

Tuuka Rask is, IMO, a "get carried" goaltender.

He's only good when his team performs well. I have never seen him be the difference maker behind a bad team.

I think he sucks, he gets annoyed and loses his focus easily and he's ugly as a ballsack.

I think Andersen is a much better goaltender, despite them having very similar stats.

Bruins in 7, most important players on both teams get career ending injuries, especially Marchand, who gets one twice.

The Leafs have a light schedule down the stretch. Andersen will be fine. Matthews will come back rested. Boston will be worn out. Go Leafs Go.

In theory you might be right, but Rask has only faced 1149 shots this season.. Andersen has faced 1871.. So, until Rask faces 1872 shots against.. We're doomed to fail.

I double counted one example but the point still stands strong. The facts demonstrate that goalies facing 2,000+ shots in the past 10 years (which speaks to your idea that the modern goalie is immune to facing too many shots) have problems making and succeeding in the playoffs.

And specifically, to Andersen, he faced 2,000 shots last year, barely made the playoffs, had worse playoff numbers and lost in the 1st round. This year, the division sucks so there's less competition for that 3rd spot but Andersen is still on pace to face too many shots and is relied upon too much to steal games and the playoff results will likely be the same.

I don't know man, the idea that the Leafs won't win the Cup is a pretty bold prediction. It would require constant argument for me to be convinced. Cause I agree with everyone else that it's basically a lock at this point.

Price is on a different level than Andersen but that being said, Price didn't make it out of the 1st round when he faced 2,100 shots in 2010/2011. Lost to the Bruins. Half of them don't make the playoffs. One third of them lose in the 1st round. Since 2007/2008, only 5 goalies out of the 30 that faced 2,000+ shots made it past the 1st round.
