Yup, while Merrick Madsen is contending for his 2nd Vezina in Arizona and Nick Cousins blossoms into a 70-point NHL player in his next organization.

Look I can understand, but disagree, with those that say Filppula has played well in what his role has been for the mjority of the year.

But when you start saying Manning gets little credit and has played well I'm going to add you to the prayer list at church

- Giroux_Is_God

When you make comments that players are inherently bad when they're not, you need to be added to the prayer list at church. Filppula has absolutely played well in the role he has been given for the majority of the year. If not for Filppula, especially early in the year with how Patrick struggled to get stronger, the Flyers would've had a huge hole at the center ice position. The poster is correct. The non star level players on this team definitely have flaws but if they were inherently bad players, the Flyers would not sit two points out of the division lead nor would they be one of the best teams n the league record wise since early Decemeber.

First he's going to win the Heart Trophy, given for the best all around performer who never takes a shift off or disappears in crucial moments.

Both continue to work on their games in the “A”. From all accounts both continue to play well.....no one except for Hextall knows a time table....obviouly injuries could play a role.

Watch out, Merrick Madsen has some serious Cal Heeter range upside.

Maybe the fact that gost is doing something the Panthers organization should have done in hosting the high school students we will have fan support today and they will motivate us to victory.

Panthers displayed class regarding this incident imo.

Trying to somehow spin this into winning a road hockey game does not.

Not trying to be a Richard but are you serious with that comment???

Bottom line, does it hurt us to find out for a few games? I would take his experience and leadership qualities over Manning right now and see.

This a very bad misread on intent here. He does not seem like the kind of guy to think that way nor do I think he meant any disrespect by it.

Ideally I would wait until he gets some more practice time with the team. He's had 1 and it wasn't even a full team practice. Maybe next week especially if the poor defensive play continues. 10 goals against in 2 games doesn't bode well for playoff pushes

I appreciate this but it's not worth the response he's clearly trying to make a comment bigger than it was. I know hockeybuzz is extremely argumentative so I'm just going to delete the post and move on to the game discussion

Two Things

1) That was some odd foreshadowing with the Phantoms game ending 7-6 before the Flyers game
2) Goalie is such a strange position in sports. To see how amazing Mrazek was against the Habs and then see that hot mess against the Bolts... it was almost like two different people out there. I think it's fair to say the Bolts are in his head. The TB broadcast (all I had) noted his record against TB while with the Red Wings. They clearly have his number. I'd take my chances with any of our other goalies over Mrazek against the Bolts should we see them in the playoffs (which would be an awesome series)

Side Note: I've been to Tampa for some games. Their fans shocked me, honestly. They're very knowledgeable and passionate about the game and the atmosphere is awesome. It doesn't hurt that the stadium is right on the water and it's like a party out there afterwards. They put these Dallas fans TO SHAME down here in Texas.

So I lived in tampa while i was in college. They are about as fair weather as they get. When they are bad it's 12$ for ice level seats when they are good it's an incredible atmosphere. The bucs are the pride and joy of the town. Bucs fans also despise eagles fans and by association I got a lot of ish when I went to the flyers bolts games.

Tfaener, the Panthers did host the MSD team. Some of the players even traveled to cheer for the team as they played (and won) in the state championship tourney. They've been very involved with the team and the school and the community in general.
Good on Ghost for showing his support as well.
