Jt has done so much over the last 2 months ..this is what you want another 10 years at 13mil per..was better to get something then nothing.. One playoff series is what your going to hang your hat on really.. tired of seeing him fall down and the other team picking up the puck to score ..how many times this year has that happened i can name at least 5 times..is he the only problem no..but he is one of a few we can actually get something back for
- theguy

JT is needed bc it allows team to have 2 centers that are extremely talented. Dont get me wrong, i'm starting to see that JT isnt worth that much but anything more than Kopitar or Teows $$ will hinder this team even further...

But JT is a priority ....

So was Jaffe

So was Rob Carlin. Yeah, the team has some influence over the broadcasters. They don't want someone to constantly bash the team. They'd rather have Butchie, even if he runs up the bar tab....

That about sums it up. Re-sign JT for $9 million per season over 8 years.

And CJ Papa. I felt bad for him...he was probably thrown on TV before he was ready and there was one night where he got tongue tied, then froze with an "oh, crap" look on his face, then just let out a "blah" sound before finding his footing again.

If the team had full control of broadcasters, considering their culture of mediocrity, we'd still be watching Peter Ruttgaizer attempting to put a full sentence together.

Jeez, I hope not. He's 18th in the NHL in scoring, and a -8. His slump coincides with the Isles falling out of the playoff race. If they pay JT $10M +, how much are they going to have to pay Barzal, who is already showing signs of being a better player?

I'm not bashing JT, just saying that the Isles cannot tie up too much money with him, if they hope to build a contender in the next few seasons.

Peter Ruttgaizer...these names are bringing back memories of an Islanders team that...well...that is remarkably similar to today's team

It's beginning to feel like deja vu all over again, to quote Butchie's cousin, Yogi. The Isles are doing a great job of falling down in the standings. If they can keep this up, they may manage to get a Top 5 draft pick which Garth will then use to select the next Michael DalColle.

It's ok to bash him he deserves it at this point. I do feel bad for him though because after Fritz scored last night Capuano will probably play them on the same line for the rest of the season.

This team in all reality has been the same for a decade now. Some good play here and there but nothing remarkable.

I've said I want JT to be re-signed, but he has not be good for a while and he needs to take some blame. As bad as Garth and Doug have been, the players have to own up to this as well.

Tavares should take A Lot of the blame. He has been (frank)ing terrible every which way for a very long time.

I think because Garth has been so bad for so long, people do not want to hammer JT. It's all valid to get on Garth , Ledecky, Doug, but it does not change the fact that JT has been in a major funk and has not be good in terms of defense or Leadership for a long time. As best player and Captain, JT has to accept blame as well.

They should have broke this team up at the trade dead line, we have a bubble team for years now , we should have had a better team this year but didnt.
( COACHING).. We would have got killed in the playoffs..

“We felt like we’d get our chances along the way,” Canadiens coach Claude Julien said. “If you do your homework, they’re one of the teams that have given up the most goals.”

Right you were Claude. Well done.

Actually, Claude, they're THE team that has given up the most goals. But thanks for being diplomatic.
