I'm still torn on Ladd - I think if he was playing with a playmaker (like Barzal or 66) he'd be a lot more effective, he needs someone to set up his shot. Nelson and fritz ain't it. If they used him properly I think he'd be a lot more valuable. If they keep using him as they are...well then it's a waste of money.

I agree, to a point. He's definitely miscast playing with Nelson and whatever sludge they scrape from the bottom of the barrel. Ladd and Nelson both need to play with players who can get them the puck.

But, even with that being the case, no goals in 2018 is terrible. Just by going to the net more you'd think a puck would bounce off of him and go in. Johnston has more goals in 2018 than Ladd...

He didn't work with JT. He did put up some points with Barzal, but Beau has been better. There really isn't any place else for him on the team. I thought Snow overpaid for him (every FA gets overpaid), but I thought he would be better that he has been.
