Certainly. But you're burning money if you make a bet saying those things are happening unless you get layed 400:1. We also need Price to stay healthy which seems to be becoming more and more unlikely with each passing season.

Do you think he's hurt right now?

I don't.

Also, what does this mean?

you get layed 400:1.

Players always sound very "politically correct" when talking about Montreal... It's a great city, the best fans, such a history, bla bla bla...

But then we hear about how the taxes are too high, there's too much pressure, the media is overwhelming, the fans are cray-cray... It would be interesting to have a player survey around the league to know how exactly they feel about Montreal.

Or ask Carey Price, he had no problems re-upping to stay in Montreal

I'd sign there, just for the opportunity to kick Mario Trembley in the nuts.

Maybe that will be the selling point for JT, he gets to kick Tremblay in the balls once a week, put it in his contact!

Whether he's hurt or not right now is irrelevant. To me, the reliability of his knees are becoming an increasing concern each passing season.

If I make a bet with you that Toronto gets swept in the first round by Boston and I lay you 400:1, I win 1 dollar from you if they do and you win 400 from me if they don't.

TLDR, Tavares isn't signing here.

A top pick is pretty much a guarantee, JT is a different story
- obie

Just semantics; I consider a top pick within the top 3. According to current trends they're headed to (frank)ing no man's land in the standings which is a terrible spot indeed.

19 games left... Pittsburgh 3 times, Toronto and Florida twice and Boston, Washington, Tampa, Winnipeg once each! They will have no problems losing games over the next 5 weeks!

And he couldn't of gotten that somewhere else and pay less taxes and have to deal with less media and crazy fans?

I'm sure Montreal will be in the conversation for Tavares. They have more capspace than most and I'm sure the idea of playing with his team Canada buddies Price and Weber doesn't sound too bad.

But he'll have many options in front of him, trying to guess where he'll end up is.... well.. exactly that.... pure guessing.

Not for 8 years and 1 year before his current contract ends. Hard to say if other teams were eager to pay 10.5 million max term for a great goalie when he's not injured.

Calgary, St.Louis, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Edmonton would of had a bidding war for him this summer..

Absolutely, no one really knows but him and even he is probably still not 100%, but certainly knows which teams he will consider and not... And if the Habs are something he would consider, I like their odds, for various reasons

I'm suggesting those teams would of upped his value to pretty much that at 1 year less if he hit the market... Even with his injuries, what do you think he would go for if he was a FA on July 1st?
