Horrible contract!

Anyone would have made that pick with the first overall!

Fire Bergevin!

In all reality, it probably will not happen.

If it does I'd be happy, if it doesn't and they win a lot more than they lose, I'm still happy.

And if they have another season like this one, and I'm lucky enough to be above the ground to witness it, I'm still happy.

It's a long shot but they'll be in the mix, only 8-10 teams will have a serious shot at JT and they are one of them for sure

Ya I don't disagree, maybe he's tired of the mediocrity of that Franchise.

But to choose MTL.....I dunno man..

Do you think adding Tavares puts the Habs right back into contention? And a top pick at the draft?

If Price pulls his head out of his ass, if Weber can stay healthy, the core is decent.

Why not?

I think so too... And it will be their job to convince him off that but with the Brisson connection they will have a seat at that table, unless he shoots down that idea completely, obvious I don't know him personally, so I can't claim to know what his opinion of Montreal and the organization is...

To think that a full rebuild is required when a team has the players Montreal has is lunacy.

I appreciate your work and optimism Brandon, but come on. To think this team doesn't need a rebuild with Price being made of glass besides getting older (vitamin B12 deficiency is the biggest load of poop I've ever heard unless he's a (frank)ing vegan), Weber getting older, only Mete showing any mobility on the backend (who's doubtful to pan out as a number 1 dmen, more solid #3), and no 1rst line center in sight is delusional. The former points lead into the latter fact that we're never going to get a legit 1rst line center in time for us to be competitive with Price and Weber. Tavares is never going to sign here; Montreal is a cool city, but I can't see why he'd want to have reporters up his ass asking why he hasn't scored in a few games and this year's performance is going to make it an even tougher sell. I haven't seen any of Poehling, but I have a hard time believing we scooped up a first line center so late in the round.

Marc Bergevin and Pat Brisson (Tavares's agent) are very good friends.

Certainly. But you're burning money if you make a bet saying those things are happening unless you get layed 400:1. We also need Price to stay healthy which seems to be becoming more and more unlikely with each passing season.

Players always sound very "politically correct" when talking about Montreal... It's a great city, the best fans, such a history, bla bla bla...

But then we hear about how the taxes are too high, there's too much pressure, the media is overwhelming, the fans are cray-cray... It would be interesting to have a player survey around the league to know how exactly they feel about Montreal.
