devils advocate, he's played 300 games. whoever's at fault for the development is up for debate, but at 300 games played, he is what he is.

Look if he was producing 5v5 Id be all for keeping him. Id say the defensive responsibilities are too much for an offensive d-man. but he was getting prime o-zone time with jack eichel and produced little to nothing at even strength.

At least mccabe showed stretches where he could move the needle and produce offense

- Sabresfan-365

But hardly anyone is producing 5v5 on the Sabres... and I don't agree that a 23yr old d-man is what he is.... He got at least 3/4 more years until we see the finished product. IMHO

Draft. I'm also for trading Reinhart. I don't think he has the speed we need on the wing.
- jcragcrumple

assuming some of the other picks like guhle and mittlestadt and this years pick aren't colossal misses, this team will eventually become too good to draft high enough for that kind of player.

Moving Risto and ROR gets you those extra first rounders, maximizes your chances of hitting on one or two

How many yachts can an owner give a single player per CBA? Pegula should buy Karlsson his own country.

Once he’s locked up just cough up 15% ownership of the Bills to Tavares and we got ourselves a hockey team.

Yes I’m available for employment

I personally doubt that the draft pick you acquire will be as good as those players. It's all hypothetical. I'm not against trading them at all - I just can't imagine a scenario where trading them helps the sabres in the next 2-3 years. Having those players will help us.

I think you and I have differing timelines

Exactly. Eichel was the only one doing it, meaning the others who are paid to aren't (like an offensive d-man)

Im not sure how many d-men these days actually see a radical jump in ceiling/improvement from when they are 23/played 300+ games.

Everyone claims that happened to hedman, but he was far better than anyone ever gave him credit for backed up by the numbers. risto has kind of been the opposite.

Just for grins, here's my trade-o-meter

1.) Not gonna trade:

Eichel

2.) Do not want to trade

ROR
Risto
Scandella
McCabe

3.) Would trade for value

Okposo
Reinhart
Rodrigues

4.) Looking to move/improve
Lehner
Antipin
Josefson
Wilson

4.) Get rid of yesterday
Girgs
Larsson
Pominville
Moulson
Bogo
Gorges
Nolan
Anyone else

Literally the only difference with Hedman offensively was PP time.

John Carlson makes 100K more than Josh Gorges.

Go on, have fun with that.

One is enough. That 2011 draft was awful

I don't know man I just think Ristro needs more time and it sure would help his game if he wasn't leading the damn team in ice time. if it means he's a #3 I'm okay with that. right now, call it a gut feeling he is just trying to be everything for the Sabres and its hurting more than helping.

I'd move Okposo to the looking to move

Reinhart as long as he's bridge deal is not expensive I'm fine keeping him but I'd also move him for the right deal.

I could be swayed either way on Okposo. I like his game with Eichel, and the price doesn't bother me but the length is sketchy. I'm pretty low on Reinhart. He's too slow for a top-6 role imo. On the 3rd line with PP1 time, he's a good fit imo. If someone wants him for a good Dman, even if we have to sweeten, I'm in

I'd only move Antipin for value. I think we've seen enough to say this guy has some talent and it might be premature to dump him for little to nothing. Guys like Girgs, Larsson, Nolan, they all are approaching 300 NHL games, they're done developing, it's definitely time to move on from them.

Kinda how I feel about it. he's okay for now but if you could find a good trade I'm okay with it too.

I'm not a fan of Okposo and that term is ugly.

on the first take, I get it even though it falls apart in a couple places...needed to go somewhere after you it calmed down for a bit...maybe open it up around the 1:05 mark by dropping down and letting a note linger before opening it up with something fuller
- Michael Pachla

Yeah, it feels "narrow". A bit rushed, but that could be because there's not a lot of change.

And on the 2nd one, the buzz on low E or whatever it was tuned to drove me nuts. I don't know if it was on purpose, if it was I'd lose it. I get it if he just mic'd up his acoustic.
