Playing mostly 3 lines might have something to do with it.

They look terrible tonight. Kessel plays better when he is paired with Malkin. Hopefully they figure out the lines and chemistry for next game.

They spend way too much time passing the puck and not enough shooting when they have 6 players on the ice.

Pens were playing like they were coming off a back-to-back-to-back. No energy outside the top line, and even then, Sheary was flopping like a fish

They had about ~30 seconds, a 6 on 5 advantage and a dman without a stick and...crickets. no (frank)ing shot.

There aren't too many games where I believe Sullivan is the reason for the loss, but he butchered this game.

Every time I think the team has turned a corner and is gonna cruise they play like this.

The Devils played a good road game. A lot of speed on that team.

Every one jumped all.over me when i saw the cracks (that are now craters) in sheary's game last year. It was obvious to me and sadly it's taken a lot of absolutely terrible hockey from him for fans and the team to finally see how terrible he is.

im being facetious of course, but seriously, I loved Reaves. he brought swagger to our team. so much rather watch Reaves than Rowny or Kuhnhackl.

You’re probably right. People who don’t understand the game probably jumped all over you. It is absolutely debilitating for a guy like Crosby or Kessel (especially Kessel, kills his entire game) to be on the ice with a guy who is constantly fumbling the puck around. Unfortunately, Rust joined Sheary and together they did the no hands dance
I didn’t think Brassard played poorly nor great. Seems like all Hornqvist did all night was go to the net, hardly ever made plays or supported his teammates- poor puck management as well. Full credit to the Devils, they jumped all over a lackluster Penguins team. It’s too bad, Crosby looked good and so did DeSmith

That HornySheShe line was really good at 5v5 which is where Hornqvist has struggled all year. Those top 2 lines are strong and I think Simon and Rust could possibly work well together

Teams always seem to lose the first games with new players. This team looked beyond lost when Kessel arrived. Sully will figure it out but it prob requires sheary down on the 4th with Shea and anyone not named Rowney. Really no excuse not to have sprong up here back with sid. Has an upside that sheary and rust can only dream of and cant possibly hamper sid nearly as much.

Sheary is becoming more and more a liability as the season goes on.

Sheary needs to watch 24 hours in a row of Theo Fleury tape. Then he would learn how to throw a little body around and be fearless.

Loyalty to average players is not the recipe for success. Give me these lines and we will destroy everyone.

I said right after he signed we were going to hate his contract sooner than later. Here we are not even a year later and he's a liability in all 3 zones. Last years playoffs was a huge red flag to me.

Sullivan really f'd up with that lineup tonight. Basically had 9 forwards playing one of the fastest teams in the league. No wonder they became sluggish after the first.
