Yeah trade Hartman, Wingels and send down Hayden, Bouma. That's really tougher to play against. - Popsghostly
Unless they provide some help for Hayden in the physical department, I would rather not have him brought up. There are clubs who will send several guys after him if he attempts a hard check on any opponent. At this point in his career he should not have to face this on a nightly basis with no backup. |

give it a rest..3 of those guys just got shipped...they were losing with them... - bogiedoc
Agreed.....but the Duclair trade looKS scary too. Who stick handles from the blue line in on a penalty shot ??? And then looks silly losing control with athat pathetic effort of a shot ???
I've never seen that before.
Thank God we got CAP relief because that's about all on this trade too. |

I'm glad they got that 2nd goal. Not surprising it comes from that line tonight. |

The type of penalty shot attempt you would see in a kids minor hockey game. |

Pathetic, but another loss closer to a better % of a Top 5 pick in the Lottery, which is good. |

I too am pulling for the kids only right now. Could care less about what the vets do because it does not matter anymore. |

This team has the potential to be one of the worst teams in the NHL over the next 5 years. Simply an abomination on the blue line. |

DeBrincat and Schmaltz might be the only current players still on the team a few years down the line. I hope some others get there but those two show the most potential of the young guys. |

3 Cups...embrace it because this team is gonna become a rec team for overrated/overpaid players from the glory days. It will be like watching Motley Crue on tour. |

Ok......I know this has been beaten to death but I can't believe what I just watched !! Seriously !! That was shameful....
So who's really to blame here ?? You got 3 HOF players on this team that are all around 30 years old. A HOF coach, a class organization, a GM that's won 3 CUPS, a Captain that's supposedly the best in professional sports, on and on and on. What the heck has happened to the compete level and integrity of this team ???? This may be the worse stretch of hockey that this organization has ever endured.
I'm so glad that season ticket monies are due next week !!!!

If Forsling can turn the corner next year, Keith simplifies his game and Seabrook gets on a steroid regimen, then we have three average defensemen. Beyond that, Stan is going to need some luck in the FA market. |

I guess the Hockey News doesn't know that Seabrook has a NMC. |

Hoping for compliance buyouts happening as a result of the CBA being reopened and adjusted before the 2019-20 season. Or LTIRs. Or retirements. Best case, of course, would be for guys to have some major, sustained, combacks, but that's hard to imagine given the current state of play on the ice. |

I don't think Murphy's foot speed will ever allow him to be a good Top
4 Dman. He won't hurt you as a 3rd pair guy, but man I wish Ron Francis had wanted Hjalmarsson and Hawks could've gotten Slavin. Murphy and an AHLer Stan did trade-backs with just doesn't feel like nearly enough for Hammer.
Kane having a really good game, Toews/Saad are complete non-factors (again), and Dahlstrom/Gustafson just plain bad. - EnzoD
What I have been saying all along about defining Mutphy's future role. To be specific, I allow him to be the muscle with anyone of the numerous offensive type guys here now, in Rockford or in the pipeline. |

Good point
If I was any good I would relish the role of a policeman but I might look more like Charlie Bronson in his movie roles where retribution is sweet and symbolic |

unless Stan and McDonagh shook hands on a secret #TankPlan last summer, idk how he can have a job after 2 first round exits and a last place finish. |

That was very telling. He has been laying it at the players' feet for a few weeks, now. Yes, they have a large share of the blame, but to not look in the mirror at all is incredibly arrogant. Look what he just said about Kane, of all people.
Not terrible, but c'mon, dude. Maybe sticking him with AA (too slow now) and Jurco (WTF) and taking Schmaltz away from him has had an effect? Of course, Kane blames himself anyway.
And, does Q not changing the lines in this abomination of a game mean he's trying to tank? has just given up? So out-of-character for him. Of course, in that same interview you reference, he talks about how stability is so important.
- pdx2ord
Agree with your points. Kane has worked his butt off this year. AA cannot be his Centre - way too slow. Revolving door at LW when it simply should’ve been DeBrincat all year. DeBrincat seemed perfect to replace Panarin. Right shot sniper. Kane also has had chemistry with Saad in the past. Q should have simply said Kane has played hard and with heart and left it at that. |
