Completely unrelated to today's topic of conversation but I brought this up here in St. Louis with my die hard Blues fans buddies and they seemed receptive.

Put Tarasenko out there this summer. Grab a top 2 D, top 2 center, top 6 forward, maybe more?

The guy is not proven in the playoffs and when Swartz got hurt he went into the tank. Schenn basically lead the team.

Maybe Sean McDermott can intern for the Sabres to change the culture. What an astounding turn around from Rex's gang.

I think culture is a meaningless buzz word. Draft better players, cut dead weight. Make smart signings (Pouliot) and the culture is good

At least Rex's gang was passionate about winning. It was just an downward spiral of bad decisions.

This Sabres group doesn't seem to even want to make decisions.

i am listening to TSN AM 1050 out of toronto. they make it sound like it is unlikely they get him but how great it would be if they did..

I have this feeling that Karlsson won't be moved until the draft. Teams will more ability to move things around to fit him in long term.

You missed the point. I'm saying having a bad culture is synonymous with having bad players. Culture is a hokus pocus term because it's never applied in any other sense than good teams = good culture = good players

I agree 100%. The entire environment or whatever adjective you want to use to describe the entire team is completely broken. Buffalo needs to fix this or no one will want to play here including Jack

I can agree with this. Harrington et al. keep complaining about the coach not deserving the blame for getting the players motivated.

He's right, on such a small, small scale. I believe it's up to the coach to instill a program to buy into. These players shouldn't need to be bribed by one man to buy into the system. The system should be there for the players to want to buy into. I'm not putting this all on Phil and gang. But Phil and gang don't have the leadership this team clearly needs.

No it's not. This is so short sighted it's laughable. Let's take a look at Vegas, for one. Or poop, the 98-99 Sabres. Hasek and no one.

Vegas has a few good players, but mostly a bunch of castoffs. And they're leading the (frank)ing league. Because of the way that they're coached. Because every player has bought in.

There's no way you can discount the culture of a team.
