I think its pretty funny how some on here have been saying all along that botts wanted pieces back in a trade that would make us better now and in the end he got picks for two drafts from now. Hilarious actually. Nobody was willing to give him a second in this draft for kane? His value was sky high i guess.

Eichel OReagan ERod were leading scorers together at Boston. Plus OReagan played with Erod for USA. Not that it means anything great, but at least some chemistry

ERod hasn't proven he's an NHL guy of any caliber yet. He's probably playing on the only team in the NHL he could be playing for.

He'll LOVE San Jose ............ I can guarantee that. They'll like him as well. Blacks are welcome in these parts.

I just can’t believe it took that long to get a second round pick

And the worst part is it’s a 2019 second round pick you couldn’t get a 2018

- GERBE!!!75PTS

You don't want the Sharks 2018 pick. They are going to be declining moving forward.

I wish I could sleep at work. I'd be able to listen to Botts' snoozer, I mean presser.

i give it a B. He misread the market but he still got something out of it and avoided a potentially bad contract. Hopefully he re-signs with the Sharks and Benoit re-signs here.

How strange it is that no other teams want our trash, not even at a price!

No one wants our UFAs -- why trade something for these scrubs when you can just try to sign them in the off-season.

We're still maintaining our terrible defense and bad goaltending, which will help us stay at the bottom.

Kane trade is what it is.. I can't understand how some people thought he was going to bring some haul. Good riddance.

Knock them?? Holy poop... They are the best team in the NHL as an Expansion Team!!! I would not knock them for anything they do.
- hehateme

If any other team traded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Tatar, would you knock them?

I would, for sure. The fact they are where they are in such short time leaves me from knocking them.

AND

Even though i liked Kane, it was still an overpayment

Even though i like ROR, probably an overpayment (and a bit of an overpayment on his contract)

Gorges for a 2nd
Lehner for a 1st
Kulikov for Pysyk
Fasching & D-Lo for McNabb & two 2nds

Not drafting ANY defensemen in the top 2 rounds except for Guhle

Hell...
what did Murray actually do right?!
Anything?

- jdfitz77

Remember what we had after 2014? Something like 3 1sts in 2015, Reinhart just got here, we were about to tank for McEichel. Pach, if you're out there, would love to see what the team could have been if we had just done nothing and not traded all of our picks for players. Keeping the Ottawa pick, the Colorado pick, the Winnipeg pick. We would be here right now with all of these prospects. We always worried we'd become the Oilers, but now we're worse off than that. We're a rebuilding team with no pieces to sell off and an average prospect pool.

2022 should be the next time we're close to the playoffs.

That could be it too
They’ll have to send all the assets they just got for him though
JT they could sign for nothing

Maybe they go BIG & try for both

Kane's value has never been higher. You must've served yourself one too many Long Island Iced Teas when you wrote that.

I look at this as a GM looking at what he has and saying when will this group be good enough to compete and realizing it is not in the near future. A roster player wouldn't help you. Next year will not be better than this one. It's another rebuild and this one will hopefully take its time, because the shortcuts are what got us to here.
