Move on, let's see what happens in the offseason or draft day.
- SABRES 89

As is what has been happening the last 5 trade deadlines. Today's conference script is already set for, "Hockey trades happen during offseason or draft day".

Statistically you're 100% wrong. One team wins it every year, so it can't be 'virtually impossible'.

Moved him 2 months ago before he went on his 20-goal scoreless streak
- GERBE!!!75PTS

To who? Do you know FOR A FACT teams wanted him 2 months ago, or are you making Xbox trades again?

What is better- Steve bernier or the return for Kane?

Debate.

I wouldn't consider the guy we got a B level.
C level.

- ImThatGuy

C level would be someone like fasching. O Regan has done what Smith has and we have him competing for an NHL spot at the very least next year.

just because i like to shut you up when your wrong, which is oh so often

Rookie Qualifications To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie.

2016-17 San Jose Sharks NHL 3 1 0 1 0 -2 -- -- -- -- --
2017-18 San Jose Sharks* NHL 19 0 4 4 2 -3

22 games played, 25 years old, and absolutely fits the criteria for the word prospect.
so yes he is a prospect thats a fact.

edit: 24 years old actually

- zombres

If you could feel my eye roll.

The guy they got is not really a prospect, he is a player that cant break into the NHL currently at 24 Years old, he is not going to get much better. 5th rd pick.

Also an RFA I do believe.

No they are (frank)ing incompetent he could have easily trade him two months ago..

He obviously thought his value was so high that he put such a ridiculous price tag and ended up with a second round pick great (frank)ing job

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Is that you Botterill? Pure speculation on what he could have gotten two months ago.

In the end, the market determines the price. In this case, the market determined that he wasn't worth a 1st in 2018 and an A+ prospect - or else Botterill would have taken it. Hopefully we all agree that he's not a complete idiot and moron.

As 89's suggests, it's time to move on. Hopefully Botterill can shed us from some of these awful contracts that are weighing us down.

Kane doesnt hold value, get that through your damn head.

No team was offering multiple first round picks for him.

Whether it's right or wrong, reputation/perception drives 90% of trade value. Thats why Nash was always going to get more in return for NYR than Kane for us. The talent level wasn't even relevant to the GMs. Unfortunate but oh well (ps its also why i think ROR could still bring a haul if Botts chose to go that route)

I’m still surprised at how it played out,
