Maybe when Green doesn't get re-signed in 4 more years he ca let Trev and Jim know the core is really stale also . Then they might listen - VANTEL

unfortunately JB and TL haven't returned my calls.
So i can't provide you their phone records.
history is usually a good indicator though, and as you mentioned last TDL they made the moves they did, with an eye to the future.
what they can't do is force the other GM's to accept trade proposals. - dbot
Just so i get this right. No reason to believe the rumors that canucks are actively trying to make trades. Gudbranson rumored to be offered a 2nd and 4th by other teams (online rumor by analyst) but you are ok with gudbranson signing? Kind of saying two different things? |

Not at all. Some GMs get creative (sometimes too creative) trying to correct past mistakes. They make things happen by selling what limited assets they have, not just advertising them and hopes someone stops by for a look. - bloatedmosquito
Sure. but every fan base has players that they wish their GM traded every year.
It doesn't always happen.
That's doesn't mean that the teams aren't trying, but it's not as easy as we sometimes make it out to be.

The canucks should be actively engaging teams with every team on interest for anyone not named bo or brock, and obv edler and sedins (restrictions). I mean all active canuck roster players in the above to clarify. - Codes1087
If u want it blown up fine.
Cannot be done til the Sedins & Edlers contracts expire. That doesn't leave many pieces left to move out. Say we did but how do we go about it? |

i guess i just don't know who you're talking about and don't think it's as black/white as you make it out to be.
i'm fine with signing Guddy. WAs happy with the moves at the last tdl (aka embracing change).
Was glad we moved on from Wille and liked the Green signing (still do).
i think changes need to be made, but don't think we need/can do a complete tear down.
and i guess i just don't see the point in getting angry over it all. - dbot
I am okay with Gudbranson signing but I am not happy with the reasons why he was re-signed. Poor planning back against the wall jerk reaction |

Why would you think they aren't trying to make trades? i'd say that given their position in the standings, that they are.
I am ok with Guddy signing, as i don't think they got an offer that they found satisfactory. i don't know what that offer threshold is/was.
only Vantel knows. |

I’ll bite...
Figure how to force NMC’s & NTC’s to waive & go to any team & I’ll agree 😂😂
Start with Kesler, Sedins & Edler there is 4 pieces to work with. Thx - Nighthawk
You have a frank and difficult conversation with the players one on one. You thank them for their contribution but let them know that they are not part of the future plans of the organization (as players). You offer them an opportunity to continue their playing careers on their terms by accepting a trade to another organization who is in a better position for both player and team to succeed. |

JB brought in 2/3 of the shutdown line. Sutter/ Eriksson.
Propelled the prospect pool to respectability.
Management has shown real loyalty to the Sedin's and Edler. Something that Gaudette has said something that is huge to him.

Who made these offers?
Vague & speculative at best.
I only believe in what actually happens or both GM’s outright say it to be true. |

You mean Kane - EP - Tavares wont be a thing lol. - Codes1087
You can poo poo signing Kane but it is retarded to bring in two 38 year old players with full NMC to a rebuild team . It is beyond dumb.
Even if they come in at 2 mil each that is 4 mil that could be better spent |

Anyone who believes we are 3 years away from being competitive, or a few pieces away from competitive. Anyone who thinks trevor has the slightest clue into anything management related. Anyone who thinks we should keep vanek past 12:01 tomorrow. Anyone who is ok with mediocrity. Any of the above. Fair? - Codes1087
Our defense needs work, but we have strength in our prospect pool at forward, some guys looks like locks. Demko is showing that he will be a solid goaltender. 3 years is not unrealistic. TL needs to go, Vanek needs to be traded, Hutton needs to be traded. Sedins need to retire, Benning is not the guy to put it together, but i think he will get us the pieces. He will be fired before his contract is up, and we ill have an amazing prospect pool to work with. Tanev can be traded at next years TDL, unless we get a big offer now, or in he off season.
The fans that do not see any bright spots in our future are morons. Boeser and Bo are already showing very well in the NHL. 1st line production from both of them. JV is starting to show that he will be a good 3rd liner, could still possibly be a 2nd liner as the 3rd guy on the line. EP is dominating the SHL right now, Lind has been great, OJ is looking better and better. Gaudette has been looking great. We have a good future, we just need few more pieces and for current ones to develop. 3 years is not unrealistic to start being a playoff team again. |

Knee jerk reactions & ppl ignore its hard to trade nowadays. Prices are silly & best to say no & build from within instead. The cap & teams cap management have changed the trade atmosphere. Pay stars a ton ‘ sign up & comers to long term contracts leaves the UFA market with dregs. We are in the era of ELC’s & picks being top currency.
