After chewing on this for a while, I like the trade.

Namestnikov is a great kid and he will be missed. I hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.

The cost was high(ish), especially if Howden pans out to be a top-6 NHL'er. But, this is the nature of deadline day deals - the cost is always higher. Considering McD's cap hit and remaining term, I like this deal.

I wonder what the NYR fans think of it?

We now have half of their team down here.

Overall we like it, but underwhelmed. Wanted more of a Homerun trade and it’s really a triple. Was going to be impossible to get young talented roster player loke sergachev or pointe which we all wanted one. The rangers had to blow this thing up. The draft is the most important piece. We are sorely lacking elite talent and need that franchise altering player
