for a 2nd? id have considered it. hes good defensively and the pk. we still have another 2nd and ruchel and valiev were never going to play for the leafs. we gave up so little and got not much in return. good depth move imo. i dont care about the trade good or bad. just tbh.

my hope is they can get a pick back for moore. theyll come out ahead. but again just my opinion.

weve picked over 25 guys the last 3 drafts and have alot picks still this draft. at some point you have to try and win. trading firsts or dermotts kapanens lillygreen should have fans upset. not this package we spent.

I don't think Plekanec is enough of an upgrade over Moore to warrant a second round pick.

I think a far better pick up would have been a defenseman to make sure Polak never plays another game.

i know...im worried.

as long as they don't touch our real assets of value the leafs can trade a few valievs and 4ths for depth and i wobt complain. plus if they win a round...or more...these assets will mean nothing to me.

Exactly, they retain salary too. It's always good to have center depth. The Oilers wanted a 1st for Letestu. This is a better deal for us.

It's going to be like 55-61. That 2nd round pick is nothing to lose sleep about.

we were forced to trade a Sosh because we had too many guys signed, too much talent, not much contracts left to hand out etc.

like i said at some point you have to stop hoarding and start worrying about the nhl on ice product.

he still has an NHL contract though, so it will still count against the 50, no worries though, there are 2 open spots.

we'll have to agree to disagree... I don't see Plekanec as an upgrade over Moore... I'm not a Moore fan by any means, but Moore's a better skater and the Leafs are a fast team. I genuinely don't believe Plekanec brings anything to Toronto that they don't already have.

Moore was slightly better at winning face offs but has taken under 350 this yeah vs 1000+ and still a positive winning % with Plek.

Plek is also a slightly positive CF vs Moore who is slightly neg on teams where these numbers should be opposite.

Plek has the ability to play with better players on the Leafs than he did with the Hans.

We won’t know until we see them together. Let’s hope it works!

No doubt. I don't have that big an issue with spending to improve. I have an issue with what the assets were spent on.

Either way, a second round pick is nothing to get bothered about.

Exactly. What's not to like about this trade.
We got a good piece for very little. Rychel and Valiev will probably stay on with the Laval Rocket. The Habs retain 50% salary and we still have another 2nd rd pick
