Wonder if we can move Moore for anything.

Jets need a depth center and Letestu and now Plec are off the market.

50% retained is interesting too. Could be as simple good business practice to stay flexible, or wherever else he would've gone he would likely have had salary retained so he carried a 2nd round value regardless.

Or does McDonagh come tomorrow? Or Faulk?

- Blazed

I think it has to do with the bonuses for the young guys. If they go over the cap with them, they get deferred to next season. Probably trying to avoid as much as possible.

Two-way winger who can score goals. He fits their system. They might not be done buying yet either.
- Unholy_Goalie

Leafs might not be either.

Nash went to Boston (his favourite team), Plekanec went to the Leafs. So yeah.

He hates this team so much, no matter what they do he will just criticize them. He should just stick to his ALMIGHTY-CAN-NEVER-BE-BEATEN Bruins.

Not for the Leafs it wouldn't be. Bruins can waste as much of their future as they want on rentals, I don't give a poop. But Nash is a more useful player than Plekanec is if you're just comparing the two directly.

Yep. Giving up a roster player with more points and a first round pick is a good deal.

Pretty lucky to get that call, usually it goes the other way. Played great in the 2nd period, they need to play like that if they want any hope of winning a series in the playoffs. Bruins are loading up though and Tampa Bay isn't done yet. Playoffs are a different animal.
- Unholy_Goalie

I concur. But need to make them first.

Boston gave up 5 pieces for 1 player. We gave up 2 players that were staying on the Marlies and one of our two 2nd rd picks. What is not to like about the Plekanec trade ?

Rychel and Valiev will probably never play in the NHL but that 2nd round pick, if used properly, could become something useful. I'm just saying, in general, stop trading picks and prospects. It's not time for that poop yet.

Plus we needed another center and we got one that is better than Moore. Both Rychel and Valiev are rfa and no guarantee that we would re-sign them.
