You have to ask yourself, what contending team does he make better? I honestly can't answer that. Maybe some depth for someone, but he's just not very good and those teams likely already have better depth options.

With the way the two players have played this year, I think Yzerman would have to seriously ask whether he's making the team better in a straight up sway. Probably is because of the experience factor, but it's not an easy answer.

I'm fine with McDonagh not being dealt, because I feel there is some unrest between him as Captain, and A.V. with his ways, as per his words when playing earlier in their losses. Hank also has likely had some choice words for A.V., who I'm still shocked is still here.
