I think he won't get gassed as quick staying lighter. He obviously still has the strength, I forget who he bowled over last night. More muscle needs more oxygen, I think we see a better Kreider at a lighter weight.

While many hockey fans enjoy trade deadline day, it should be noted how difficult it is for players and their families. Yes, players are well paid and it’s part of the business. Still difficult to get a call and be on plane to another city...leave wife and kids behind.

Well he was kind of like that last year too. Granted the goals were there, but he seemed to wait for that one burst of speed during a shift and was kind of gassed.

I'm sure it affected him this year, but I also think like he said, he feels good being a bit lighter. It showed last night too. He was everywhere.

Interest in Evander Kane has picked up, due to Buffalo being willing to lower their initial demands. Once Kane is dealt, it would likely open the trading market for additional forwards to be moved among Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Pageau, possibly Hoffman, and others.
In being short at center, Gorton should at the least, talk to Ottawa on Pageau, who has two more seasons left on his contract at $3.1M each.
