Good amount of interest in Mats Zuccarello. However, no team has been aggressive enough to this point to suggest trade likely.

JT and Hayes are RFAs. It's trade or sign them. I feel as though at least one of the two will be dealt between now and the end of the draft. We can really get a haul of picks rivaling Vegas of last year's draft if we play our cards right.

Like Karlsson, Mcdonagh's value to a team will never be higher than it is now. Especially to a playoff team. Managable cap hit and another year left on his deal. The more the rangers wait, the mpore they lose in value in that asset.

That was Elias night. All players were wearing 26 sweater with an A on it.

Had me thinking that they must really want Grabs to stay in NJ if they gave him an A that soon.

That is our belief but we don't know that for a fact. Maybe a team that isn't in the race now is more comfortable dealing for him in the summer where they can get their house in order and even get an extension prior to a deal. He would be allowed to extend July 1 right? There is value there for a team like the Sabres or Panthers knowing he is locked in.

I disagree. Before the draft you have more suitors which could potentially create a bidding war and teams would be ok with giving up pieces before a season starts, than during a playoff run.

Agree here. If they are not getting the package they want, why force a trade. More teams can enter the race in the summer.

Why would any team give up a haul to player that could a UFA in 12 months. Would you rather have a pplayer under control for 16 months or 12 months. Answer seems clear to me.

At game last night, thought Miller had a pretty solid game. As said, Miller-Hayes-Spooner could be a very solid third line, but those three are all pretty similar, so could see one moved.

The Rangers are seeking an experienced defensive minded d'man who can also contribute somewhat offensively on the rush.
Oh, they have just acquired an upper level one who has 1 year remaining at $4.7M on his contract, by the name of Ryan McDonagh FOR FREE!
I would not trade him unless receiving a McDonagh like heist they did for one named Scotty Gomez. I still think that also his foot injury of two postseasons ago, has never healed properly 100% in full. Every stride and cut he takes, along with blocking shots with it, prolonged his proper healing. Karlsson is going through the same with his foot injury of last season, and he wants to be paid the highest salary in the league.
Gorton holds the cards here, and should hold onto McDonagh for as long as until next season's deadline, if he cannot re-sign him at a minimum of Shatty's $6.5M to $7M for up to 4 years, without any NMC if possible. Karlsson will cost double that to sign.

If the don't trade Mcdonagh, I hope they move Kreider.

While many hockey fans enjoy trade deadline day, it should be noted how difficult it is for players and their families. Yes, players are well paid and it’s part of the business. Still difficult to get a call and be on plane to another city...leave wife and kids behind.
