Not sure what you are trying to say? If Nash wasnt traded, he’d play tomorrow? Brilliant!
- tbreinold

It's pretty clear for you to not understand what I wrote there, IF YOU KNEW IN THE FIRST PLACE, "MR> BRILLIANT", how the Nash trade initiated from SATURDAY!!!
Had Nash been traded INITIALLY this morning, instead of SATURDAY NIGHT, when the INITIAL trade could not go through, due to the Bruins not having sufficient cap space to fit Nash's cap hit in, the trade had to be modified by BOTH teams, in the full way you would see it on any sources' NHL trades website link.
So it took until Sunday morning to modify the terms, to pass it through, with the Rangers retaining 50% of Nash's salary, and accepting Beleskey in the deal in paying just 50% of his as well.
Now suppose if the Rangers made that INITIAL failed deal this morning instead of Saturday night, with it needing MANY HOURS to modify to comply with cap rules. Nash would still be a Ranger for now, and would have flown to Vancouver at 1:00 pm with the team today. Then suppose that Boston changed their minds on acquiring him, or if both teams couldn't work out those modification terms, Nash may have not then been even able to be traded, should the rangers have held out for some other team to pay the high price Boston did for him.
So what would YOU, "MR. BRILLIANT" have done with Nash had he not been traded by the 3:00 pm deadline today??? Leave him instead in his NYC apartment to play with his PUPPY???? With you questioning my earlier comment as, "BRILLIANT", you probably would have if you were Gorton!

I think everyone will be a little more even once the deadline has come and gone. We might not 100% like what happens but it will at least be dead.

to me, Greschner is the obvious choice
- jimbro83

I think you are right on that, based on Greschner's known longevity here of I believe playing in 300 or so more games than Patrick's 650 to 700.
But I recall a rough stat where Greschner averaged a little over 0.6 PTS./Game, to Patrick's 0.7 PTS/Game, to in Ratelle's days, Park's 0.8 PTS/Game, and in the late 80's to early 2000's, Leetch's nearly 0.9 PTS/Game for Rangers d'men history wise. (Those "6-7-8-9" figures are the way I recalled this, as for the 4 best d'men's offensive numbers in longevity time as Rangers.
If not going by most games played, you had Zubov averaging even higher than Leetch for the few seasons he played here, at almost 1 PT./Game, and Reijo Ruotsalainen somewhere among the top two or three, but only playing here for about 5 seasons in those same early 1980's.
