At this point they have to trade Mcdonagh right?
- tomburton99

It really feels like it. Bruins out tho which sucks

But the return could be massive

Good trade for both sides.
- Cape Breton Bruins

I called a heist before but that’s not really accurate. I think the Rangers got a lot. I think the Bruins are going for it and got a great player. Good deadline move.

Yea I am not sure what to think about this trade...the 1st is great and so is Lindgren...but why take on Bealesky if you are not getting a top prospect?

Not saying I hate the trade but just don't get it fully yet

- TPC

That's my feelings as well . Also Lindgren is not signed

So the Rangers adding a lot of left handed defensive prospects with limited offensive upside

That's a bold strategy Cotton

I hope if they trade McDonagh/Zucc they start looking at offensive prospects

For all the ribbing I gave him over the years, they guy busted his ass every shift and played arguably the best two way game I’ve personally ever seen. Just wished he had that huge clutch goal moment here
- Slimtj100

Maybe he will be back......hope so

We are rebuilding though. Who cares about Nash's money and Belesky.
- mdw7413

You're right about Nash's money. Rangers only have to deal with that for 2 month. Taking Beleskey is different. Boston had no inetion of calling him back up. So to take on contract that is hand cuffing them, I just think maybe he could have gotten one of Boston's top 5 prospects. But again he got a lot. Ryan Spooner replacing David Deshairnais is the biggest win here in my eyes.

Of course the two of us are the only ones who see it this way, we were also the first ones on board with a rebuild, tired of being correct and being given poop for it
- KreiderBomb

Vin, you and Tom were also 2 of the biggest Nash critics and now expect him to bring back the moon. Come on

Not gonna lie I shed a tear, I already miss Nash
- TPC

Yeah, I appreciate everything he did for us while he was here. He certainly tried hard and we came so close to winning it all. It is the end of an era though for us Rangers fans, as a lot of these guy we've watched for several years will be gone now.

Just not sure what some of you expected. Would you give up a 1st and Chytil and Miller for a few months of Nash? Cause thats sounds like what you wanted Boston to do.

And lets be honest. The way a good majority of people talked about Nash the last few years, you would think he was worth only a 3rd.

- mdw7413

Wasn’t expecting Debrusk or Donato but after hearing Frederic I wasn’t expecting to end up with Lindgren, a 26 year old non factor and a 29 year old AHL hack who’s only value was his salary and taking it with an incentive

I had issues with his productivity but that was because he couldn’t clearly still play, just because I called him out doesn’t mean I didn’t expect a return for him

It’s highly likely that the Bruins are out but not definite. Same pieces weren’t being discussed as part of McDonagh deal with the exception of the 1st.

The cap space space is the issue.

Edit: Try and fleece Florida they have high profile forward prospects and might not amke the playoffs.

Contract/points wise absolutely not. Hard work, two way player, not really anyone better on the team.

Offensively, no. But the Rangers has their best years since the early 90s after trading for him. It’s debateable whether that would have been true if they didn’t make that trade.

All about the first rounder. It’s a very strong return. Plus the rangers have had some success with young dmen so I’m hoping that continues. I would’ve rathered a forward but still happy about the trade

I don't hate Rick Nash the person. I didn't like the lack of Scoring Rick Nash hockey player on the New York Rangers. There is a difference.

No no no.... You don't get to change your opinion of him after I had to argue with you for three playoffs straight.
- mdw7413

I always respected his two way game and said he worked hard.

Both you favs are in Boston now, go black n gold!

That First round is gonna be in the 20's. But if the Rangers hit on that pick, then the deal becomes much better.
