I like Spooner a lot and comparison to Miller is a good one. Think Miller is better offensively, but Spooner on third line is a good fit.

I would need to check this but I believe on a ppg basis, Spooner is more productive than Miller.

Just not sure what some of you expected. Would you give up a 1st and Chytil and Miller for a few months of Nash? Cause thats sounds like what you wanted Boston to do.

And lets be honest. The way a good majority of people talked about Nash the last few years, you would think he was worth only a 3rd.

Wow, comprehensive write up Jan.
I like the deal. With Nash being a rental, we got a good return. Likely get one of the better prospects if Nash had another year left on his contract.

I think people are thinking that Spooner is some scrub.

These will be the same people that complain about a return for Miller if we traded for him, who is a player in a similar class to Spooner.

This was a heist. Not because Nash isn’t a great player but because he’s a rental. The Sabres trading Kane and other sellers should send Gorton a thank you note for setting that market.

I honestly woulda been happy with a first rder and Lindgren. They have so many options to move up or down at the draft with various picks now to get the player they covet if need be.

Spooner is a bonus to me as he’s another asset, and hes actually out produced Nash this year. Belesky, whatever it’s a body

The prospect is where people seem to be upset, and my stance always is no one can predict one from another at the time of a trade or draft. I’ll take that to my grave, my grave I tell ya!!!

Now that he's gone we lost Gretzky.
This is the year Nash lights it up in the playoffs.

Yea I am not sure what to think about this trade...the 1st is great and so is Lindgren...but why take on Bealesky if you are not getting a top prospect?

Not saying I hate the trade but just don't get it fully yet

So we got Miller a 1st and decent D prospect for Nash. I'm supposed to be upset about this?

The Rangers ate half of Nash's money, took on Belseky who was costing the Bruins cap money and in the AHL. Again the Rangers got a lot of assets. Just not sure they got enough high caliber ones.

Me too. I'll always root for Nash to succeed, guy brings it every shift. Really hope he and Grabs come back next year.

For all the ribbing I gave him over the years, they guy busted his ass every shift and played arguably the best two way game I’ve personally ever seen. Just wished he had that huge clutch goal moment here

We are rebuilding though. Who cares about Nash's money and Belesky.

Of course the two of us are the only ones who see it this way, we were also the first ones on board with a rebuild, tired of being correct and being given poop for it

No no no.... You don't get to change your opinion of him after I had to argue with you for three playoffs straight.
