Ok going to try to be objective about a lot of people wanting to get rid of Hayes.
Zib 53 games 17g 14a 31 points
Hayes 56 games 15g 13a 28 points
Zib, did not have to shut down top lines. Got tons of PP time, usually had the best wingers on his line. Hayes barely got any PP time had the toughest assignment and has 3 less points than our #1 center. What am I missing here - mdw7413
LOL @ #1 center. I think it’s become pretty apparent this season we don’t have a true #1 |

I just think Hayes is a bit more important than people realize. If Andersson and Chytil come up and are better, I have no problem looking at options of moving Hayes, but right now I don't think its the best idea. |

I completely agree with you. Center depth is important. |

I think we underestimated how important Stepan was to this team coming into this year |

Can’t diagree with you on that. A team weak at center probably shouldn’t be giving up the centers they already have |

Or overestimated Andersson ability to step in. Had to trade him though. No more NMCs!!!! Please |

Zibby got nothing but love around here. I'm not a fan. Never was. Lazy baztard with a great shot. And a lot of those shots go wide and get us in trouble...!
Not gonna happen, but I would trade him NOW!
Got a feeling they will trade him before his NMC kicks in 19/20.
Do it now and get a huge return. We're gonna suck next season anyways.

I don’t think this is an unreasonable opinion. Guy can be great at times but too many stretches of being invisible. I think he is safe for now but he’s a guy that I can see getting traded eventually.
But the Rangers can’t afford to trade center depth yet, imo. |

Replace Stepan with Brassard. He was the guy. I like Zib a lot but Brassard was a big loss. I actually think the opposite about Stepan. I always thought he was more important than we gave him credit for but him being gone made me realize I was wrong. Just my opinion. Glad I don’t have to see him skating up and down the ice like he’s got cockies in his pants anymore. |

Stepan brought back the 7th overall at the draft (think the other two pieces of that deal cancel each other out). Zibby is younger and cheaper. Better draft day type trade if they went that direction.

Yup, I also hope Gorts is drafting centers again. I mean its a lot easier to have a center go to wing. Draft a crap load of them and let them all battle it out for the spots |
