Dale with the W - Nucker101
I mean, he's no Sam Gagner.
Gagner pulled down a dime that also happens to be a doctor.
But Dale definitely outkicked his coverage. |

LOL Everyone knows that wasn't the debate. You said you would rather have Read and that they were basically the same
Nobody on this board said "sign Oshie." - AllInForFlyers
You're incorrect. This is a Salary Cap era. The Cap has been in effect since 2005. This isn't fantasy hockey. When looking at a choice between two players all of the factors are involved including contract cost. When we had this discussion Read was a more viable player and yes I'd rather have used Read in that spot then to try and sign Oshie. So how would the Flyers have gotten Oshie then if they weren't going to sign him. Not only do you continue to make strawman arguments but the arguments you offer just don't plain make any sense. Just like with Karlsson. It's not fantasy hockey.

No doubt. I would it rather be one of Morin or Hägg. They fill the same role to me. And Hägg makes it an actual roster player. I’m not opposed to Simmer being part of the deal (although he is hurt) as we won’t have the space to resign him. |

I think a really good 3C is well within Laughton's skill set and what many of us envisioned when he got drafted.
Remember those days when some folks here wanted to ditch Couturier in favor of Laughton when Laughton was in juniors? - johndewar
Kind of. It was probably me. I’d just like to see him be more of a shutdown kind of guy. I hope he proves me wrong. I am excited at his shot this year to go into the playoffs hopefully flanked by weal and Simmonds. |

I think they can make the Simmonds money work if need be....but is it smart ? I hope they keep him but that might not be what’s best going forward. (To move on ) |

Prove it! I can prove what the conversation started about, your crazy trade offer for Karlsson, before you moved it in a different direction. You're just claiming I said something without any context behind it.

Short sample size but it's looking like another success story for the much maligned Flyers method of developing young players.

He’s so smart with the little things....he is going to help Patrick grow if they stay together. Patrick has that elite vision as well.....throw in Jake and that’s something pretty cool. |

That's my experience too. I was just making a (possibly bad) joke.
They closed a small Ace Hardware not far from my house where all of the guys that worked there were or are actual contractors and actually knew what they were talking about.
Unfortunately, the rent in the strip mall they were in went up and put them out of business, which sucked. Even though their prices were a bit higher than HD or Loew's, it was worth it, because they'd actually help you if you had questions with stuff and knew what they were talking about. |

You're making a strawman argument to deflect away from the ridiculous and absurd trade suggestion you made for Karlsson. As far as when Weise was signed, at the time of the signing I didn't have much of a problem with it. Neither did Hextall apparently.
Since you want to use revisionist history, let's recall the conversation we had before the season and your ability to judge talent when it came to the expected point production of Nolan Patrick. You stated that Patrick would score 50 points this season. I told you in rebuttal that was not reasonable to expect that production from him and that I thought that 30 would be a far more reasonable expectation. Here Patrick sits with 18 points in 53 games, which comes out to a 27 point pace over 82 games. Who was closer? Who properly evaluated the situation better?
As far as Filppula is concerned. The Flyers are fortunate to have had Filppula as a bridge to when younger players such as Patrick could be ready to take a bigger bite. I doubt the Flyers would be in as good of a playoff position without Filppula and having to use other players instead in his role and deployment. Though his offensive game is declining, he remains a trusted player of the coaching staff and a valuable role player.
What else do you have? - MJL

I know if feels like Scott Laughton is older and has been around forever, but he's only 23.
He got into double-digits in goals, despite mostly pulling 4th line duty this year and is over 50% with his faceoffs.
I think the best for Scott Laughton is yet to come. |

It just seems like strong chemistry and balance between the 3 players. Lindholm plays an effective game without the puck. Gets in on the forecheck, wins puck battles and occupies defenseman around the net. Voracek like to carry and possess the puck a lot and Patrick can make plays with the puck.

Local places are the way to go. I'm in HVAC and I dread when I need something on the spot and have to rely on Home Depot or Lowes |
