I'll never understand the Filppula hate. For a 4th line center and the experience he has , he is quite valuable in that position. I could see him scoring some clutch goals/ making some really underrated plays for the Flyers in the playoffs. I bet a lot of other teams wish they had Flip as a 4th line center. |

I've never seen a 4th line center play 17 mins a night, and that right there is the issue with Filppula. |

He played like 10 mins max against Ottawa and his ice time has been declining steadily as the season has progressed. I personally feel like he is the best 4th line center in the division for what he brings and the fact that he can move up easily if there was an injury. Super underrated |

Actually he played nearly 15 mins vs Ottawa and over 17 vs CBJ. |

Does Chris Stewart have anything left? Could he be an upgrade over Weise and/or Lehterä? He was also waived today. He’s also Simmonds’s close friend. |

Realistically what else would you want from a 4th line center that Flip doesn't bring. Looking at other teams 4th line centers in the division and even eastern conference you could make an argument that he is better than all of them. But obviously the fan base needs someone to hate on. |

I'm perfectly fine with filp. He's the amac of the forwards for me. Get rid of manning lehtera and Weise and I'll be down right giddy |

Didn't see the CBJ game so can't comment there but I feel as though he played that much against Ottawa because the game was out of reach. Flip is a safe player if the Flyers have a steady lead I have no issues playing him a lot. If they need a goal I feel as though he doesn't see the ice nearly as much. For the position they are asking him to play I think he's doing a pretty good job , I don't see how they could really upgrade on what he is doing tbh. |

Check the ice time. You can call him whatever you wish, but he’s being used like a 3C. When he starts playing 10 mins or so a game on a regular basis, then he’ll be a 4C and I’ll stop complaining
Deal with it |

Agreed. I just wish they had a stronger option at 3C so that Filppula could see less ice time.
However, when compared to Dale Weise, Filppula is the 2nd coming of Rod Brindamour |

Once Simmonds comes back you'd hope Weise becomes a scratch and Raffl moves down to that line. Lehtera is what he is out there, obviously is super slow, but he is decent on the boards and can make a play on a more consistent basis than Weise can. If the Flyers head into the playoffs with a 4th line of Raffl-Flip-Lehtera you could argue that its one of the best 4th lines in the conference in terms of how they'd be possessing the puck along the boards. Might be one of the best Flyers 4th lines in the past 10 seasons as well. |
