It obviously helps in the short term as you are losing one roster player for the best defenceman in the league for the playoff run and beyond. Long term is a different story of course.

Darn i thought it was 3,i do not want a STREAKY Simmonds on a heavy long term deal at his advanced age either.

If all the Flyers do tomm is grab Oduya off waivers I think that would be a solid pickup in an attempt to solidify the blue line without giving up assets. Forwards wise once Simmonds is back the Flyers may have one of the deepest offences in the league. Overall a lineup like this would be a pretty good one headed into the playoffs:
