Van has beaten better teams this year. I think it just shows that in a year or two with some younger, better players added that Van can compete nightly with the best teams in the NHL. - manvanfan
Consistancy and confidence is hard to get for a young guy and it makes it that much tougher with the travel and all the back to backs, 3 in 4 nights crap, look at vegas schedule mostly nicely spread out with at least a day to rest. |

I think Bo would start with an A and Edler C. The truth is I don't care enough . I am just having a laugh seeing how much some care about it - VANTEL

#Canucks Green on Hutton today: ‘there are certain things I want out of Ben Hutton and he knows exactly what is expected of him. And when that happens, he will play’
Sounds like Hutton is staying. |

Of course, after all isn't that your audience? Aren't business supposed to do things to appease their customers?
It is my understanding that more customers means more money and more money is generally good for business.
But I could be wrong. |

To a degree they are, but how many players would be playing/drafted/traded and people hired/fired if every single decision was to appease fans? Going on the whim of your audience isn't the best way to run a business, especially when so much of this audience isn't that well-informed and are easily persuadable. |

But as a business philosophy, it's a hell of a lot better than going on the whim of your crazy owner. Business owners can pay the bills but they can't generate profit for the business.
At the very least, if all else fails, appease the people who are responsible for profit. |

Sure but the way I have been reading the comments is that the Sedins as your captains is the reason the team is where they are, which is completely untrue. Their captaincy (and post game comments about how good the team played) has nothing to do with the on-ice results.
As fans of the team, the player wearing the leadership badge should not bother us if someone like Bo is on the ice nearly double the time anyways |

Very true and I didn't mean that the canucks should rip off the C and give it to someone else just because us nutters say so. That's silly.
I was talking in a more general sense. For example, going back to the old discussion of rebuild vs compete now. If ownership and management is in touch with their fan base then they should make an effort to listen and gauge the mood and react accordingly. |

For sure, in the general sense you have to deliver a product that satisfies your fans. Whether its selling them on the idea of a rebuild, or building a contender, the fans have to appropriately buy in for the franchise to be financially successful.
Listening to fans, however, for captains, line combinations, call-ups, when a player deserves more opportunity, etc. are things that are not their business |
